  • Graduate students currently enrolled at the
    iSchool in the Masters program in Information
    Management.
  • Elected in an iSchool-wide election in late
    Winter.
  • Created by Students Assisted by iSchool
    Administration.

RSO Becoming "Recognized"
  • UW requires that recognized organizations
    register with Student Activities.
  • Perks of becoming an RSO means funding, support,
    and facilities-use.
  • We need a constitution (charter), Faculty
    Advisor, and attend an orientation.

  • Our Purpose (Proposed)
  • It shall be the purpose of AIMS
  • To function as a student government.
  • To provide official channels for communication
    between MSIM students,
  • faculty, and administration of the Information
    School. 
  • To promote the interests and serve as an advocate
    for MSIM students
  • To provide opportunity for social, cultural, and
    professional activities.

Archer Award (Proposed)
  • An award given to second year MSIM for
    exceptional achievement as a student and as
    future information management professional.
  • Any second-year MSIM can be nominated. Chosen by
    students and awarded during iSchool convocation.
  • Archery is meant to symbolize how the recipient
    aims for a target.

Spring Fling
  • iSchool-wide celebration sponsored by the
    Association of Library and Information Science
    Students (ALISS).
  • Celebrating the year's work and those graduating
    at the iSchool.
  • Food, games, cash bar. Lots of fun!!

  • Fundraising Activity about 9/shirt to be sold
    for 14-18/shirt. Still trying to pencil it
    out. The more we can buy, the cheaper they are

AIMS Finance
  • AIMS is being registered as a Student
    Organization with the Internal Revenue Service
    (IRS) for federal tax purposes.
  • We are a tax-exempt organization.
  • Banking is being set up at US Bank at the HUB.
  • Hours M-F from 10 3pm (later hours available)
  • Free Business Banking Checks, CheckCard,
    Overdraft Protection, Online banking, BillPay.
  • We have discussed having a Paypal account for
    donations.
