The Introductory

• Clenbuterol is used to assist people who suffer
  breathing problems. It is used to free airways,
  and is commonly used to in small doses in
  inhalers
• After abusing clenbuterol to use as a workout
  supplement, a 17 year old bodybuilder reported
  severe chest pain the patient denied using any
  steroids or other illegal drugs

Case history

• The boy had used oral clenbuterol for two weeks
  one 20mg tablet twice daily, for two consecutive
  days with a 2 day break
• The patient suffered the infarction after an
  emotional breakdown which triggered a higher
  heart rate he did not have a family history of
  cardiovascular disease
• After the infarction, the boy had still had a
  high fever and slight tachycardia
• The effect of the clenbuterol was visible as the
  patient displayed a highly developed musculature

Hypothesis

• Clenbuterol is usually stacked with other
  anabolic agents before any health problems arise
• Only one cause relating to myocardial infarction
  occurred and the patient was using anabolic
  steroids
• In this case, clenbuterol was used as the sole
  agent, and since clenbuterol, when taken in the
  doses used by the patient, has high lipolytic and
  anabolic effects, it may be responsible for
  causing the infarction.

Methods of Evaluation and Treatment

• The patient was treated at a hospital
• The first method of treatment included iv
  nitroglycerin, aspirin, enoxaparin, metoprolol
  and antiboitics this reduced the severe
  continual chest pain
• The patient did not display any more symptoms for
  the next few days the tachycardia also began to
  reduce
• ECGs and echocardiographs were used to monitor
  the health and condition of the boy results
  showed a gradual return to normalcy

Discussion

• The hypothesis was proven correct the ECG and
  echocardiograph both show that the boy indeed
  suffered myocardial infarction
• Hypokinesis in a small area of the apex was
  discovered
• As like most infarction cases, the boy recovered
  within 4 weeks, and a follow up cardio stress
  test indicated normal cardiac health
• The boy is asymptomatic since

Conclusion

• 17 yr old (m) utilizes drug known as clenbuterol
  and suffers myocardial infarction
• He is treated with appropriate medical care and
  monitored
• He shows some minor damage, which heals in an
  appropriate amount of time
• Hypothesis is proven true based on medical
  history of boy and assessment taken however,
  only the boys word was taken on the role of
  marijuana and tobacco further tests should be
  done to determine the safety of clenbuterol as a
  drug
