General Product Overview
  • UNE-P Product Catalog
  • Unbundled Network Elements Platform (UNE-P)
    products are combinations of unbundled network
    elements (UNE) that meet the definition of
    unbundled network elements in Section 251(c) (3)
    of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
  • The current UNE-P family of products consists of
  • UNE-P Centrex (Plus, 21, and Centron)
  • UNE-P DSS (Digital Switched Service)
  • UNE-P ISDN BRI (Basic Rate Interface)
  • UNE-P ISDN PRI (Primary Rate Interface)

  • UNE-P Centrex PCAT
  • UNE-P Centrex provides similar finished service
    functionality that is provided with Qwest retail
    Centrex services, providing exchange service
    between an end-user's premises and the Qwest
    Central Office. UNE-P Centrex products available
    are Centrex 21, Plus, and Centron which may be
    ordered as a new combination or converted from
    existing Qwest resold or retail services. ISDN
    service will not be offered with UNE-P Centrex.
    Centron is only available in Minnesota.\

Product Description
  • UNE-P DSS PCAT
  • The UNE-P DSS product provides similar
    functionality and features as Qwest's retail DSS
    product. UNE-P DSS provides digital exchange
    service between an end-user's PBX and the Qwest
    Central Office and includes
  • Digital exchange service for PBX (Private Branch
    Exchange) end-users
  • Digital transmission facility (DS1/DS3) at the
    speed of 1.544 Mbps, or fiber optic upon request
  • Multiplexing of the DSS facility in Qwest's
    central office to accommodate up to 24 voice
    grade channels into the switch
  • Trunks, both basic and advanced, for access to
    the local exchange network

  • UNE-P ISDN BRI PCAT
  • UNE-P ISDN BRI is an all-digital communications
    technology that provides services and
    capabilities not available through standard
    analog technology. The ISDN digital architecture
    provides an integrated voice/data capability to
    the end-user via the Public Switched Network
    (PSN). It allows for high-speed transfer of
    voice, data and video over the same line,
    sometimes at the same time.

  • UNE-P ISDN PRI PCAT
  • Unbundled Network Elements-Platform (UNE-P) ISDN
    (Integrated Services Digital Network) PRI
    (Primary Rate Interface) provides preexisting
    network elements which are combined together to
    provide a finished service for ISDN compatible
    PBX end-users.
  • UNE-P ISDN PRI is a four-wire full duplex
    transmission path between ISDN capable CPE
    (Customer Provided Equipment) and an
    ISDN-equipped central office. The basic service
    consists of 23 B Channels and a D Channel with a
    transmission rate of 1.544 Mbit/s (Mega bits).
    Each B Channel carries user information and the
    D-Channel is used for signaling. The channel
    configuration is commonly referred to as 23BD.

  • UNE-P PBX PCAT
  • A Private Branch Exchange (PBX) is equipment at
    the end-user location that routes incoming,
    outgoing and internal calls. PBX service uses
    UNE-P Analog DID and non-DID Trunks to connect
    the end-user's premises to the Qwest central
    office.
  • UNE-P Analog PBX Trunks are a combination of
    preexisting elements which provide an unbundled
    switch port and an unbundled loop to a end-user's
    premises for connection to the end-user's PBX
    switch.

  • UNE-P POTS PCAT
  • UNE-P POTS provides similar finished service
    functionality as is provided with Qwest's retail
    residential and business services (i.e., 1FR/1FB
    1MR/1MB).
  • UNE-P POTS may be ordered as a new combination or
    existing resold services or existing Qwest retail
    services may be converted to UNE-P POTS. Existing
    Centrex 21, Centrex Plus or Centron service may
    be converted to UNE-P-POTS.
