- This equipment typically includes vehicles,
protective gear, weapon systems or other military
technology that states can purchase or otherwise
obtain through other sources. - So what exactly does this policy mean and isnt
it a violation of the 2nd amendment? Heres the
part the media isnt highlighting and that is
they are using government made weapons and gear
without a permit, without payment, and not
subject to background checks nor ownership
records. Does that give them an advantage in a
gunfight? And lastly, while were on this topic,
how are we going to stop domestic terrorism? - This is our chance to discuss it.
- What will we have in the future? Guns on every
shelf at Wal-Mart? Can felons have body armor,
riot shields and other weapons that are banned to
the general public, what is the reason for the
disparity? Can a felon use a firearm while on the
run?
3Can a felon own a bullet proof vest?
- Firearms, ammunition, and body armor are not
currently among the items that a felon can
possess. The President has said that Law
enforcement should have every tool
available ballistic shields to keep our
communities safe. Now, I want to clarify what
this policy means. Under the Departments current
policy, the federal government provides surplus
military equipment to state and local law
enforcement agencies for use in very limited
circumstances. This is our chance to discuss it. - What will we have in the future? Guns on every
shelf at Wal-Mart? Can felons have body armor,
riot shields and other weapons that are banned to
the general public, what is the reason for the
disparity? Can a felon use a firearm while on the
run? - And why should we be more concerned with stopping
an average citizen from possessing a weapon
instead of a felon with a felony?
4Can civilians legally own body armor?
- 1. A felon can keep a firearm at his residence,
even if he stole the one he is now convicted of
being in possession of. - 2. A felon can carry a concealed firearm.
- 3. A felon can carry a concealed firearm in or on
a vehicle. - 4. A felon can buy any firearm he wants if he has
the money. - 5. A felon can buy ammunition, from anywhere, for
any weapon. - Gun laws, such as concealed carry laws, do not
stop the murder from taking place. A gun in the
house does NOT prevent the murder. A gun doesnt
stop the bullet. Only the laws stop that murder.
The laws are not written for the protection of
the public, but for the preservation of the 2nd
amendment rights. The laws do a great job for the
protection of the private citizens rights. - Gun laws, such as concealed carry laws, do not

5Is it illegal to wear body armor in public?
- I believe that every citizen should have the
right to own a firearm. Its our right as
Americans to do so. The problem today is that
those of the Democrat and/or Socialist persuasion
do not appreciate individual rights and dont
believe in the second amendment. Those of the
Socialist persuasion would say that they dont
want weapons of war in the hands of average
citizens. - Their ideology will cause them to take extreme
actions to confiscate private firearms. - If you have to pay for a gun, why does it have to
be on the open market? - I want to give you the background on my position
on this issue. - In 2009, the Illinois Supreme Court ruled that
the right to keep and bear arms belonged to
everyone, not just to those who could afford to
buy a weapon. - Following this ruling, I supported a new State
wide legislation known as the Gun Show Law.
This new law stated that gun sales and purchases
were to be done at gun shows after being placed
on the ATFs National Instant Criminal Background
Check System.
