WHY IS FAMILY WORK WITH DUAL DISORDERS IMPORTANT ?
  • Many DD clients have contact with family members
    who provide support and assistance
  • Caregiving burden is increased when clients have
    a dual diagnosis
  • Loss of family support is a major contributor to
    housing instability and homelessness in DD
    clients

    abuse in DD clients
  • DD clients and their relatives often know little
    about mental illness and substance abuse
    interactions
