What is it?
  • Most popular and one of the oldest group weight
    loss programs.
  • Operates on calorie-reduction plan
    points system.
  • Eat whatever is in point system.

Just where do these Points Come From?
  • The formula for calculating points is patented,
    but here is a variation

1 point (calories per serving/50) (fat
grams/12) (min r, 4/5)
  • The last part of the calculation means grams of
    dietary fiber or 4, whichever is less.

So Basically
  • The formula means this
  • For every 12 grams of fat,
  • the points per serving
  • increases by 1.
  • Points drop by 1 for
  • every 5 grams of dietary fiber.

  • Healthy alternative to Atkins Diet.
  • Mediterranean inspired.
  • Consists of fish, cheese, vegetables, meat, nuts,
    wine, and bread.

  • 20 percent protein
  • 28 percent fat
  • Based on a COMPLICATED formula (they wont
    release for free) that relies on the value of phi
    (1.618), known as the "golden ratio."
