preached in his name among all nations, beginning
at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these
things. And, behold, I send the promise of my

all the house where they were sitting. And there
appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of
fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they

16
Independence Day
  • What do we have independence from?
  • Independence from tyranny

17
Independence From Tyranny
  • Sin
  • (John 834) Jesus answered them, Verily, verily,
I say unto you, whosoever committeth sin is the
    servant of sin.
  • (Rom 616) Know ye not that to whom ye yield
yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are
to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death, or of
    obedience unto righteousness.
  • Serve sin Death
  • Obedience - righteousness

18
Independence From Tyranny
  • (James 114-15) But every man is tempted, when
he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth
sin and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth
    death.

19
Independence From Tyranny
  • We are now independent and free from this tyrant
    called SIN
  • (Rom 61-6) henceforth we should not serve
    sin.
  • (Rom 67) For he that is dead is freed from
    sin.
  • We no longer serve sin
  • We no longer are held down by sin

20
Independence From Tyranny
  • Does this mean that well never sin?
  • Of Course not Only human will stumble
  • Need to get back up and now have the ability
  • (1 John 16-10) If we say that we have
fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we
lie, and do not the truth But if we walk in the
light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship
one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ
his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say
that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and
the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If
we say that we have not sinned, we make him a
liar, and his word is not in us.

21
Independence Day
  • What do we have independence from?
  • Independence from tyranny
  • Independence from fear

22
Independence from Fear
  • (Rom 831-32) What shall we then say to these
things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him
up for us all, how shall he not with him also
    freely give us all things?
  • How can we be afraid?
  • He will give us all things needful to us!

23
Independence from Fear
  • Independent from fear because
  • (John 316) For God so loved the world, that he
gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have
    everlasting life.
  • Theres no longer anything to truly fear!
  • (Matt 1028) And fear not them which kill the
body, but are not able to kill the soul but
rather fear him which is able to destroy both
    soul and body in hell.

24
Independence from Fear
  • This independence from doesnt mean that things
that we portray to be bad will not happen to us,
    cause they may.
  • Its in Gods hands Let Gods will be done!
  • Need to have the confidence of Paul
  • (2 Tim 46-8) For I am now ready to be offered,
and the time of my departure is at hand. I have
fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I
have kept the faith Henceforth there is laid up
for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous judge, shall give me at that day
and not to me only, but unto all them also that
    love his appearing.

25
Independence from Fear
  • (Phil 46-7) Be careful for nothing but in
every thing by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto
God. And the peace of God, which passeth all
understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds
    through Christ Jesus.
  • Put your fears to rest in Gods care!

26
Independence Day
  • What do we have independence from?
  • Independence from tyranny
  • Independence from fear
  • Independence from Hell

27
Independence From Hell
  • (Rev 35) He that overcometh, the same shall be
clothed in white raiment and I will not blot out
his name out of the book of life, but I will
confess his name before my Father, and before his
    angels.
  • Christ was speaking to the early Christians

28
Independence From Hell
  • If youre a Christian, youre name is in the book
of life name written in Heaven
  • (Heb 1223) To the general assembly and church
of the firstborn, which are written in heaven,
and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits
    of just men made perfect.
  • Written from the Greek apographo - enroll
  • (New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance
    with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary)

29
Independence From Hell
  • (Rev 2012-15) And I saw the dead, small and
great, stand before God and the books were
opened and another book was opened, which is the
book of life and the dead were judged out of
those things which were written in the books,
according to their works. And the sea gave up
the dead which were in it and death and hell
delivered up the dead which were in them and
they were judged every man according to their
works. And death and hell were cast into the
lake of fire. This is the second death. And
whosoever was not found written in the book of
life was cast into the lake of fire.
