The Big Picture
While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came
along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw
Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and
begged him, "Lord, if you are willing, you can
make me clean." Jesus reached out his hand and
touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be
clean!" And immediately the leprosy left him.
Then Jesus ordered him, "Don't tell anyone, but
go, show yourself to the priest and offer the
sacrifices that Moses commanded for your
cleansing, as a testimony to them."  Yet the
news about him spread all the more, so that
crowds of people came to hear him and to be
healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often
withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Luke 512-16

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax
collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax
booth. "Follow me," Jesus said to him, and Levi
got up, left everything and followed him. Then
Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house,
and a large crowd of tax collectors and others
were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the
teachers of the law who belonged to their sect
complained to his disciples, "Why do you eat and
drink with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"  Jesus
answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a
doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the
righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A
man was there by the name of Zacchaeus he was a
chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to
see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could
not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and
climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since
Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the
spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus,
come down immediately. I must stay at your house
today." So he came down at once and welcomed him
gladly.     Luke 191-6

All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He
has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.' "  But
Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look,
Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions
to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of
anything, I will pay back four times the amount."
Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to
this house, because this man, too, is a son of
Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to
save what was lost.     Luke 197-10

The Big Picture
On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine the best of meats and
the finest of wines. On this mountain he
will destroy the shroud that enfolds all
peoples, the sheet that covers all nations he
will swallow up death forever. The
Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all
faces he will remove the disgrace of his
people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.
In that day they will say, "Surely this is our
God we trusted in him, and he saved us.
This is the LORD, we trusted in him let us
rejoice and be glad in his salvation.
   Isaiah 256-9

After this I looked and there before me was a
great multitude that no one could count, from
every nation, tribe, people and language,
standing before the throne and in front of the
Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were
holding palm branches in their hands. And they
cried out in a loud voice    "Salvation belongs
to our God, who sits on the throne,    and to
the Lamb." All the angels were standing around
the throne and around the elders and the four
living creatures. They fell down on their faces
before the throne and worshiped God, saying
"Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks
and honor    and power and strength be to our
God for ever and ever.    Amen!"

Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white
robeswho are they, and where did they come
from?"  I answered, "Sir, you know."    And he
said, "These are they who have come out of the
great tribulation they have washed their robes
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Therefore,    "they are before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his
temple    and he who sits on the throne will
spread his tent over them.  Never again will
they hunger never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat upon them, nor any
scorching heat.  For the Lamb at the center of
the throne will be their shepherd       he will
lead them to springs of living water.    And God
will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
  Revelation 713-17
