Title: And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the sain

1
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the
evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip
the saints for the work of ministry, for building
up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the
unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the
Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of
the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we
may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by
the waves and carried about by every wind of
doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in
deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in
love, we are to grow up in every way into him who
is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole
body, joined and held together by every joint
with which it is equipped, when each part is
working properly, makes the body grow so that it
builds itself up in love. (Ephesians
411-16)

Do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by
testing you may discern what is the will of God,
what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans
122)

Like newborn infants, long for the pure
spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to
salvation -- if indeed you have tasted that the
Lord is good. (1 Peter 22-3)

But in the following instructions I do not
commend you, because when you come together it is
not for the better but for the worse. For, in
the first place, when you come together as a
church, I hear that there are divisions among
youWhen you come together, it is not the Lord's
supper that you eat. (1 Corinthians 1117-20)

So then, my brothers, when you come together to
eat, wait for one another-- if anyone is hungry,
let him eat at home--so that when you come
together it will not be for judgment. About the
other things I will give directions when I come.
(1 Corinthians 1133-34)

On the first day of the week, when we were
gathered together to break bread, Paul talked
with them, intending to depart on the next day,
and he prolonged his speech until midnight.
(Acts 207 ESV)

And upon the first day of the week, when the
disciples came together to break bread, Paul
preached unto them, ready to depart on the
morrow and continued his speech until midnight.

be built up. (1 Corinthians 144-5) So with
yourselves strive to excel in building up the
church. (1 Corinthians 1412)

When you come together Let all things be done
for building up. (edification) (1 Corinthians

Edification
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
teaching and admonishing one another in all
wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
(Colossians 316)

Edification
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the
cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He
comes. (1 Corinthians 1126)

Command and teach these things. Let no one
despise you for your youth, but set the believers
an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in
faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself
to the public reading of Scripture, to
exhortation, to teaching. (1 Timothy 411-13)

Edification
For an overseermust hold firm to the trustworthy
word as taught, so that he may be able to give
instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke
those who contradict it. (Titus 17-9)

And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle,
encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be
patient with them all. (1 Thessalonians 514)

Edification
preach the word be ready in season and out of
season reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with
complete patience and teaching. For the time is
coming when people will not endure sound
teaching, but having itching ears they will
accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their
own passions, and will turn away from listening
to the truth and wander off into myths. As for
you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do
the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
(2 Timothy 42-5)

And let us consider how to stir up one another to
love and good works, not neglecting to meet
together, as is the habit of some, but
encouraging one another (Hebrews 1024-25)
