Directions
  • Teachers
  • Pass out a 2009-2010 Registration Manual to each
    student.
  • Make sure that each student signs the roster
    stating that they received a registration manual.
  • At the end of homeroom, please turn in all
    leftover Registration Manuals to Ms. Weathers in
    the Guidance Office (Counselors will give out
    registration manuals to students who are absent).

  • Students
  • Write your full name and homeroom teacher on the
    top right corner of your Registration Manual
    cover.
  • If you lose this Registration Manual, you will
    have to pay for another copy.
  • Please follow along with this PowerPoint as we
    navigate through the Registration Manual.
  • When you get home, read the entire Registration
    Manual carefully with your parent/guardian.
  • Finally, fill out your Registration Sheet located
    on either page 21, 22, or 23 and sign (Student
    and Parent/Guardian).
  • Please note that elective classes should be
    ranked 1-8 (ex 1-course I want the most and
    8-course I would like the least).

  • After reading the entire Registration Manual,
    parents and students should discuss together
    possible course selections.
  • SHS Counselors will individually register
    students during the following weeks according to
    selections made on the Registration Form and
    class availability and size
  • January 20th-February 13th Rising Seniors
  • February 23rd-March 19th Rising Juniors
  • March 23rd-April 2nd Rising Sophomores
  • April 27th-May 29th Rising Freshmen

  • Registration appointments for students to meet
    with their counselors will be done randomly.
  • Appointment slips will be distributed to students
    one to two weeks prior to their registration
    appointment. Parents and Students who have
    questions about their course selections or about
    other issues can email their counselor to discuss
    their concerns prior to the scheduled
    registration session.
  • Parents may also accompany students to their
    Registration Meeting.

  • Appointments will be 15-20 minutes long. If
    parents and/or students have other concerns, a
    later meeting will be scheduled.
  • It should be noted that if a student does not
    come to the Registration Meeting with the items
    listed below, then the appointment will be
    cancelled and rescheduled at the end of the
    registration week.
  • Registration Sheet (in the Registration Manual)
    properly filled out with signatures by parents
    and students and the order of preference for
    elective classes (from 1-8), and
  • If applicable, approved
  • Honors/Pre AP/AP application (Guidance Office).
