Home Folder
  • Adds new subfolders to Home (U/)
  • Desktop - OS X desktop folder
  • Library - essential application OS files
  • Documents, Movies, Music Pictures - default
    location for many OS X apps
  • Public - allows for sharing of files still in
    the experimental phase for SVGS
  • Sites - not used at SVGS, would be used for
    personal web pages

  • Drag to Trash to delete
  • Drag to Trash to eject CDs and DVDs
  • Will say Eject
  • Drag to Trash to unmount volumes
  • Will say Disconnect
  • Drag to Trash to burn CDs ???
  • Will say Burn
  • Empty Trash with a click and hold
  • Ctrl - click or right-click will also work

Logout, Restart Shut Down
  • Use the Apple menu
  • Logout between classes
  • Shut Down during last block or at night
  • Restart if the system acts up
  • Force Quit is OS Xs Task Manager
  • Apple - Force Quit from Finder
  • Option - Command - Escape
