• FY 2006 maintenance workforce - 654K
• 362K Active Duty Maintainers
• 167K Selected Reserve Maintainers
• 126K Civilian Maintainers
• Change from FY 2005 to FY 2006
• Less than 1 percent decrease in maintainer
  strength versus no change in DoD overall
• For each of the Active, Selected/Reserve, and
  Civilian maintainer workforces, the change was
  less than 1 percent
• Only double-digit change was in the Naval
  Reserveoverall NR reduction of 8 led to an 11
  decrease in maintainer strength
