Himachal Pradesh- The Land of the Gods
  • Located in the northern region of India, Himachal
Pradesh covers an area 55,673 sq.km., making it
the 18th largest state in the sub-continent.
Located at a height of 6500 meters above sea
level makes it one of the coldest states in
    India.
  • The state is also referred to as 'Deva Bhoomi'
(the land of the gods) due to the number of
temples spread across the state, making it one of
the top pilgrimage spots of India. Additionally,
as far as the cultural and political aspects of
the state go, The Rajputs, Brahmins and Mahajans
(the high caste) not only dominate the economic
and political life of the state but also the
    ritual statuses.
  • The state also has brilliant geographical
features making it the epitome of natural beauty.
Here are some spots that Himachal tourism
companies never miss on showing-off to visitors.

3
MANALI
  • Rohtang Pass, at an altitude of 3979m (13,050 ft)
above sea level, is one of the top tourist sites,
    in the region of Manali
  • Situated near the end of the valley on the
National Highway leading to Leh, Manali offers
    several breath-taking views of nature
  • From temples to picturesque sight-seeing spots,
Manali is a popular vacation spot throughout the
    year

4
SHIMLA
  • The amazing city of Shimla lies at a height of
2,300 meters, offering one of the most scenic
    views from its location
  • Though Hindi stands as the widest spoken language
here, the localities also seem to have a good
grasp over English, Punjabi, and Pahari
  • In terms of Architecture, most of Shimla has
diverse colonial forms culled from all over
    Europe

5
DALHOUSIE
  • Located at the height of 2036m, Dalhousie is a
hill station full of colonial charm holding
    lingering echoes of the Raj
  • Spread out over five hills, the town gets its
name from the 19th century British Governor
    General Lord Dalhousie
  • The Dainkund in Dalhousie, standing at about 2745
m offers a birds eye-view of the hills and
    valleys
  • Apart from these three places, there are several
other beautiful places with undying beauty and
culture to offer all over Himachal Pradesh with
their exclusive delicacies, and fine handicrafts.
