Top News of Park City
We are very proud to say that Park City still has
three of the top ten resorts in North America!
Congratulations to Deer Valley Resort, Park City
Mountain Resort, and Canyons Resort for their
continued dominance in SKI Magazine's 2013-14
resort rankings. The first discoveries of
precious metals within the mountains around Salt
Lake City appeared within the early decade.
Commissioned military officer St. Patrick E.
Connor of Fort politician instigated the search,
encouraging his men to prospect with the aim of
transportation non-Mormons into the Beehive State
Territory. The primary recorded claim of the Park
City Mining District was the Young Yankee load in
Gregorian calendar month 1869.

Park City Museum
The Park City Museum takes visitors from the
beginnings of Park City through modern day. The
exhibits focus primarily on the mining roots,
with an interactive display about the Silver King
Mine and the daily operations. The museum also
traces the town through the lull, when mining was
failing and the town was nearly abandoned. The
idea to break away from years of mining tradition
and start a ski resort ended up saving the nearly
empty town.

Park City Library
The Park City Library is in the heart of Old Town
Park City and offers an outstanding collection of
over 70,000 books, e-books, periodicals,
audio-visual materials, free public computers and
wireless Internet access.

Park City Real Estate
Park City was selected as the 2013 Best Town in
America to live. The intro page headline to the
article simply states "Welcome to the Good Life"
and goes on to say "The goal was simple Find
America's best place to be healthy. We wanted a
town with ample trailheads, nearby adventure,
great farmers markets, and, hopefully, a
competitive gear-shop scene. To pick it we turned
to you. In our third-annual crowdsourced contest,
readers cast more than 21,000 votes online and
raved about these 18 towns.

During Special Events
In general Park City has two annual special
events. They are Art Festival held in the summer
and Sundance Film Festival held in winter which
impact on parking and vehicular access in a major
way.
Art Festival During this event, there is no
access to parking in the Main Street area. Follow
the portable electronic message signs on the way
into town for parking information. Once you park
in the location directed, hop aboard one of the
City buses that will whisk you to Main Street.
Sundance Film Festival Parking is available
but tight in the Main Street area. If you can
make it to town without a car, you can rely on
Park City's exceptional bus service. If you must
drive, follow all posted regulations. More
