Culture History
The islands are rich with culture and history.
In 1493, was Christopher Columbus second voyage
into the new world. He headed North after
visiting Santa Cruise. Columbus came upon group
of small islands Las Once Mil Virgenes (11,000
virgins). The group of islands were named for
Ursula who the Huns persecuted because she
refused to wed a pagan prince.
