setup a bio-plant in Luapula Province.

• The plant start its operations in 2017 and the
  proposed investment is about USD 190 million.

• Sunbird Group and The Mahtani Group of Companies
  are the actual investors.

• The development will bring a pool of employment
  opportunities for the locals as the factory would
  absorb about 7000 workers to manage its day to
  day work.

• Cassava, a local crop, will be used as the basic
  input and hence, about 25000 farmers would be
  required to offer the required inputs to the
  factory.

• The news has brought a lot of joy for the local
  residents as they will now by eyeing to find a
  stable job.

• Luapula Province has often been seen as an
  underdeveloped region, but with this news of
  development, things will reflect a change.
