UGC NET Exam National Eligibility Test which
the aspirants commonly and proudly abbreviate as
NET is a national level exam meant for
scrutinizing the expert of the knowledge required
for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/
associates/ research fellows at Indian varsities
colleges. National Eligibility Test (NET) is a
national level exam conducted by University
Grants Commission. By qualifying this test, post
graduate students may apply for lecturer-ship in
reputed universities and may also seek admissions
for PhD. The candidates who wish to appear in Net
Exam must have fulfilled eligibility criteria
declared by Net Coordinating Institutes.

UGC NET Syllabus Know your UGC NET Syllabus
Knowing syllabus is the first step to begin
your preparations. The candidate who are
preparing for UGC-NET exam should have full
knowledge of their syllabus and an idea about
the topics to be covered in exam, students are
benefitted with the full Syllabus of UGC NET.

NET Exam Eligibility Criteria Those candidate
who are preparing for UGC-NET exam should have to
fulfill some basic criteria of UGC. A final year
student of Masters Degree or passed out student
whose result is still awaited is also eligible
for UGC NET Exam. However, such students will
only be considered for the admission for the
Award of Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant
Professor when they have passed their Masters
Degree with required percentage criteria.
Required Percentage Criteria for UGC NET
December 2015 1. For General Category Candidates
55 aggregate in Masters Degree or Equivalent
Degree and 2. For ST/SC/OBC/ PWD Candidates - 50
aggregate in Masters Degree. 3. The Ph.D. degree
holders whose Masters level examination had been
completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective
of date of declaration of result) shall be
eligible for a relaxation of 5 in aggregate
marks (i.e., from 55 to 50) for appearing in
NET. 4. Candidates having post-graduate
diploma/certificate awarded by Indian University/
Institute or foreign degree/diploma/certificate
awarded by the foreign University/institute
should in their own interest, ascertain the
equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate
with Masters degree of recognized Indian
universities from Association of Indian
Universities (AIU), New Delhi. (www.aiuweb.org) Su
bject Boundaries The candidates can apply to the
subjects in which he/she have completed their
Masters Degree and In Case the subject is not in
the list they may apply for the related subject.

UGC NET Paper Pattern Pattern of UGC NET Exam
2015 is classified between following categories
1. Paper-I This paper consist the General
Aptitude section like Reasoning Ability,
Comprehension Reading, Mental Ability, and
General Awareness etc. There will be 60 questions
each of two marks, out of which 50 questions
would be required to answer. In that case
candidate attempts more than 50 questions then
first 50 questions will be considered for
marking. 2. Paper-I This paper will consist of 50
compulsory MCQ (Multiple choices with single
correct answer) questions each of two marks. 3.
Paper-III This paper is the final step of Net
exam. It will consist of 75 objective type
compulsory questions from the subject selected by
the candidate and each question will carry two
marks. Time Duration of Paper-I and Paper-II is
same 75 minutes each and for Paper-III, it is 150
The candidates will have to mark the response
for the questions of Paper-I, Paper-II and
Paper-III on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet
provided along with the Test Booklet. Remaining
Information regarding OMR sheet will be provided
on Admit Card.
