Maths Multiplication Shortcut Multiplication of
two 3-digit Numbers
Tips and Tricks to multiply two 3-digit numbers
abc and xyz Step 1 Multiply and write the
rightmost digits(cz) of the two given numbers
down. Step 2  Now, do cross-multiplication(bz
and cy) and add the products(bz cy) and write
down to the left of cz. Step 3  Next, do
cross-multiplication(az , by and cx) and add the
products(az by cx) and write down to the left
of the previous result. Step 4  Next, do
cross-multiplication(ay and bx) and add the
products(ay bx) and write down to the left of
the previous result. Step 5 Finally, multiply
the leftmost digits(ax) of the two given numbers
and write down to the left of previous result.
(If necessary, add any final carry).
