The term TMT means Thermo Mechanically Treated.
TMT bars are known to have a softer core and a
solid external surface. These are resistant to

FBEC Rebars (Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating)
These are made by clinging epoxy powder with a
hot bar with the help of electrostatic charges.
The epoxy powder first melts and then cools in
order to yield a properly adhered uniform
coating. The layer offers protection against
corrosion to rebar. This is very practicable for
protecting against chloride ion.

CRS (Corrosion Resistance Steel) Rebars
The bars are made by the blending of various
elements such as Phosphorus, Chromium and Copper.

protection to superstructures against severe
weather conditions. As compared to a standard TMT
bar, a Cu-Cr TMT rebar boasts of 1.5 1.9 times

Zinc Coated TMT Bars
The process of galvanization helps deposit zinc
on a rebar. Ion transfer is responsible for the
deposition of the layer of zinc on the metal
surface. Coating serves as a physical barrier
between the rebar and the source of corrosion.
Even when the layer suffers a break, the
surrounding zinc atoms dissolute and offer
greater protection to the bar. Using Zinc coated
bars is advantageous in the sense that there is
no loss of flexibility, and bars can be roughly
handled or even bent with convenience.

TMT Re-bars with Corrosion Inhibiting Admixture
When the condition of the soil is normal and
there are no excess sulphates or chloride, these
rebars can be implemented in the substructures.
Engineers can use it in the superstructures along
with concrete in a soft ambience, apart from the
coastal regions with constant snow or heavy
rains. There is also a Bipolar Concrete
Penetrating Corrosion Inhibiting Admixture added
into the concrete. Although this does not serve
as a barrier, it can retard the corrosion process
as much as to make it negligible.
