ABOUT US
The Bregman Veterinary Group has four locations
that are full service veterinary hospitals. We
offer a full array of preventative veterinary
medicine including wellness exams, vaccines,
FELV/FIV and Heartworm testing, and flea and
parasite control. We perform many different
surgical procedures at the facility including
spays, neuters, and soft tissue and orthopedic
surgery enhanced by the availability of a
Surgical Laser. We also offer advanced imaging
that includes Xray and Ultrasound. All of our
images are digitized and sent via the internet to
a board certified radiologist. We maintain state
of the art veterinary practices and offer a wide
array of veterinary medical and surgical services.

CO2 Surgical Lasers
The most commonly used surgical laser used in
soft tissue surgery is CO2 laser. The CO2 laser
wavelength (10.6 micrometer) is highly absorbed
by water contained in the soft tissues. Because
of its outstanding versatility and precision, CO2
surgical laser is the most efficient and dominant
soft tissue surgical laser since the 1960s. Laser
surgery is widely practiced in a variety of
applications in human as well as veterinary
surgical fields.

Radioactive Iodine Therapy
Hyperthyroidism is a metabolic disease that is
caused by excessive secretion of thyroid hormone.
It is most often caused by a benign tumor of the
thyroid gland. Weight loss, vomiting, increased
appetite, and poor hair coat are the most common
clinical signs
Because Iodine is radioactive, the New York State
Department of Health requires a period of
isolation.  We have recently received approval to
release pets as early as three days after
treatment. Your pet will be cared for in our
feline only facility. Large comfortable cubicles
with a private litterbox area are provided. There
is a wonderful view of the tennis courts behind
the facility. Your pet will be evaluated twice
daily. Because our iodine facility is located at
the Cat Hospital, there is always a doctor
familiar with nuclear medicine available to
evaluate your pets condition.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
We use laparoscopic equipment for minimally invasi
ve dog spays in particular. Laparoscopy (also
known as minimally invasive surgery or
videoscopic surgery) has allowed surgeons to
perform the same procedures as in traditional
open surgery, using small incisions (keyhole
surgery) instead of large abdominal incisions. 
Studies have shown major benefits to the patient
in terms of reduced post operative pain,
increased post operative comfort, reduced
hospital stay and quicker return to normal
physical activities. Improved cosmesis and
reduced wound complications associated with large
scars are also major advantages associated with
this technique.
