The Aloe Vera plant is commonly found in the
tropical climates and belongs to the genus Aloe
of the flora family. It is widely grown for its
agricultural and medicinal properties. This
short, stout, prickly, pale green plant looks
like a cactus and can be cultivated in
well-drained soils, as well as survive as an
ingrown, potted plant. The name Aloe Vera finds
its origin from the Arabic word alloeh that
refers to a shiny bitter substance and vera
means true in Latin. The Aloe Vera plant is
easy to be taken care of, though it should be
kept in mind that the onset of Aloe rust,
bacterial soft rot, basal stem rot, etc. diseases
should be avoided. The Aloe Vera plant has an
average height ranging between one to two feet,
and its availability is not a problem in India.
The leaves of the plant are responsible for
producing the gooey liquid that is extremely
bitter to our taste buds!

    gained huge popularity by virtue of being a
    wonder-plant. Its benefits have been discovered
    aeons ago, and it is of great help to the
    mankind. It might not have charmed everyone with
