Women Safety
  • Personal safety is an important issue for
    everyone, but especially for women.
  • Here are 8 things you need to know about personal
    safety.

4
1. Awareness
  • Your first line of defence.
  • Most people think of kicks to the groyne and
blocking punches when they hear the term
    self-defence.

5
  • Though, true self-defence begins long before any
    actual physical contact.
  • The first, and probably most important, component
in self-defense is awareness awareness of
yourself, your surroundings, and your potential
    attacker likely strategies.

6
2. Use Your Sixth Sense
  • Sixth sense. is a powerful subconscious insight
we feel about situations and people.
  • We all have this gift, especially women, but very
few of us pay attention to it.

7
  • Trust it and learn to use it to your advantage.
Avoid any situation or person, which does not
feel safe youre sixth sense is probably
    right.

8
3. Self-defense Training
  • It is important to evaluate the practical
usefulness of a womens self-defense programs.
  • Here are two tips
  • a) Avoid martial arts studios .
  • b) The self-defense program should include
    simulated assaults.

9
4. Fight Back
  • Unfortunately, no matter how diligent we are in
practising awareness and avoidance techniques, we
find ourselves in a situation that leads to a
    physical fight.
  • Many women worry that they will provoke the
attacker and make things worse if they defend
    themselves.

10
  • However, aim for the eyes first and the groyne
second, and use the element of surprise to your
advantage look quickly, and mean it.
  • You may only get one chance.

11
5. Pepper Spray
  • Pepper spray can be a very useful tool,
understand that there can be significant
    drawbacks to its use.
  • Such as, it doesnt work for everyone.
  • Even a face spray will only incapacitate 80-85
    of people.

12
  • Also, carrying it in your purse wastes time and
alerts the attacker to your intentions while you
    fumble for it.
  • Never depend on any self-defense tool or weapon
to stop an attacker, instead, trust your body and
    your wits.

13
6. Avoiding A Car-jacking
  • Lock all the doors and keep windows up when
    driving.
  • Most car jackings take place when vehicles are
    stopped at intersections.

14
  • The criminals approach at a 45-degree angle, and
either pull you out of the drivers seat or jump
    in the passengers seat.

15
7. Travelling
  • Violent crimes against women mostly happen in the
    best and worst hotels.
  • Predators play the part of a hotel employee, push
their way through an open or unlocked door.

16
  • For home safety, never open your door unless you
are certain the person on the other side is sure,
and always carry a door wedge with you when you
    travel.
  • A wedge is often stronger than the door it
    secures.

17
8. Safety In Cyberspace
  • The Internet is educational and entertaining, and
it can also be full of danger if one isnt
    careful.
  • When communicating online, Always use a nickname
and always keep personal information hidden such
as home address and phone number confidential.

18
  • Keep current on security issues, frauds, viruses,
etc. by regularly referring to The Police
    Notebook Internet Safety Page.
