CRS Of Express Entry

• Express Entry Immigration System of Canada is
  based on CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System), i.e.
  a point based system that allocates points to
  candidates based on their age, education, work
  experience, language ability, etc. Canada has
  made a key change in the ranking system of CRS
  w.e.f. June 6, 2017. Lets know key facts
  associated with this change.

1. Ranking Preference to the Earlier Registered
Profiles

• As per this new change, the preference will
  be given to the candidates, who have registered
  their profile earlier over the later registered
  candidates in case the minimum qualifying marks
  are same.

2. High CRS Score is still the Primary Selection
Factor

• High CRS score of a candidate is still the
  primary selection criteria irrespective of the
  fact when the profile of a candidate was
  registered in Express Entry. Hence, a candidate
  with high CRS score will always get preference
  over an applicant that has registered a profile
  earlier.

3. Profile Updated/ Modified

• In case, a candidate has updated or modified
  the express entry profile his/her registration
  date will not change and it will be considered
  the first registration date only. The ranking of
  a candidate will also be decided based on his/her
  first registration date.

4. Re-registration after the Profile is Expired

• If the profile of a candidate is expired after
  one year, and he has registered it again in the
  express entry, his registration date will be
  considered as the latest one (new registration
  date) and not the old express entry profile
  registration date.

5. Old Registration will be a Tie-breaker for
same qualifying marks

• When two candidates have the same minimum
  qualifying marks announced by the IRCC (for
  example- 408 points), in a express entry draw,
  the candidates who has registered his profile
  first in express entry will get the preference
  and hence the ITA (Invitation to apply) for
  Canada PR from IRCC.
