Does the company understand the area?
You should choose a manager who understands the
local marketing. A property manager may have been
in business for many years, but may not have kept
up on changes in the industry, or may have just
gotten tired. Ask about how they market during
the high and low seasons, what types of
properties are most popular and if there are any
recent regulations that may affect your rental.

What are the fees and terms of contract?
Most vacation property management fees can range
anywhere between 25 to 50 of the rental income.
You will need to determine if those fees are
suitable and if you can still meet your rental

property manager will be available to take
bookings. Of course, you cant expect them to be
available 24/7, they should be available during
the times when most people will be making their
travel plans. Also, you should understand if
there is online booking available to enable
people to book when its convenient to them.

When can you expect updates?
You will want to understand when and if you will
be updated on your propertys condition after
each booking, and they you are informed of any
damage or issues. Ask how and when the company
will update you on these issues. You should also
understand how the property management company
will handle any damages.
