Primary benefits of green design

Description:

The green building construction enables both the occupant and the builder to preserve most of the environment and natural resources around the structure. This means that the construction process and the operation of the building do not in any way disrupt or ruin the resources, land, energy, and water in and around the structure. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Primary benefits of green design

  • Everything that we do can have great affects on
our environment. The earth is continuously
declining but there are things that we can do to
help save the planet. Green architecture firms
also have their own ways of saving the earth. One
of these ways is constructing a green building.
  • Our natural resources are getting scarce and they
are no longer as sustainable as they were
hundreds of years ago. But there is still hope.
We can still help save the planet and make sure
that the future generations can still enjoy the
beauty and resources mother nature has to offer.

  • Today, it is only typical for us to hear people
talking about going green. There are a lot of
ways we can help save the earth. In every small
single thing we do, we are contributing to the
go green movement. Recycling or repurposing
things, switching from traditional light bulbs
and fluorescent lamps to LED lights, reducing
energy consumption by turning off lightd and
unplugging appliances when not in use, using
recyclable baskets or paper bags instead of
plastic cellophane when shopping, using non-toxic
home cleaning alternatives like vinegar, soap,
baking soda, and lemon, avoid using plastic
bottled water, switch from using a dryer to hang
drying your clothes, and many more.

These are the typical things we can do at home to
help save the earth. The green architecture firms
also have their own ways of saving the
earth. What is green design? Green design, also
referred to as green construction, green
building, sustainable design, or sustainable
building, is the term used to describe the
process of creating a structural building that is
environmentally friendly. The building with a
green design is known to be both
resource-efficient and environmentally friendly
all throughout its life-cycle.

  • The green building construction enables both the
occupant and the builder to preserve most of the
environment and natural resources around the
structure. This means that the construction
process and the operation of the building do not
in any way disrupt or ruin the resources, land,
energy, and water in and around the structure.

  • Green design offers a variety of environmental,
economic, and social benefits. Among these are as
    follows.
  • Social Benefits
  • Green buildings are not only energy and
    resource-efficient, economical, and eco-friendly,
they are also designed with comfort and
functionality in mind which allows the occupant
to live comfortably and to enjoy a higher quality
    of life.

10
Economic Benefits
  • The cost of constructing a green building is
almost the same as that of a regular structure.
However, green building is more economical than
the standard building because it seldom requires
future renovations. The cost of operation and
maintenance of a green design is also lower than
    that of the standard building.

11
Environmental Benefits
  • When sustainable architecture firms create a
green design, they think of the efficiency of the
building. Green design is energy, water, and
    material efficient.
  • Green buildings do not use a commercial energy
source to provide power, heat, and electricity
for the entire structure. Instead, they make use
of the different renewable energy resources like
wind power, solar power, and hydro-power. They
also make use of the rainwater and recycle it for
toilet flushing, watering vegetation, and other
    home operations.
  • The natural resources are also being conserved
since green buildings use only eco-friendly
material like bamboo and recycled concrete or
metal. Most of the materials used in constructing
a green building are nontoxic, natural, and
    recycled.
