I developed an interest in neurology after
reading a book in college called The Man who
Mistook his Wife for a Hat, by neurologist
Oliver Sacks. It was about a manwho was becoming
demented. I was fascinated. The fact that
everything about who we are is determined by our
brain fascinates me to this day. In medical
school, my interest in neuroscience made the
courses easy for me, and I simply followed my
bliss from there to where I am today. At one
time, I performed as a musician, but these days
my interest in music manifests in my seeing live
music shows of all kinds.
3How Long have You been in Practice?
I have been in practice in Las Vegas for 14
years. The city of Las Vegas intrigues me almost
as much as the field of neurology, and I love it
here. Dr. Milford recently received a medallion
gift from one of his patients who works for
LVMPD. The medallion is supposed to protect those
who possess it. Here is Dr. Milfords thank you
letter to the patient
4Can you Explain What is Neurologist?
A neurologist is a doctor who treats diseases of
the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscle. I
treat non-surgical disease I am not a
neurosurgeon. I treat diseases such as stroke,
dementia, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis,
Parkinsons disease, carpal tunnel syndrome,
peripheral neuropathy, etc. I also treat symptoms
such as headache, neck pain, low back pain,
dizziness, numbness and tingling, etc. For me,
there is never a dull day in my neurology clinic.
I feel very lucky to have chosen a field that
fascinates and intrigues me to this day, even
after all of these years.
