4CHEMISTRY OF EPOXY FLOORING
- CHEMISTRY
- Epoxy is a copolymer that is, it is formed from
two different chemicals. These are referred to as
the "resin" and the "hardener". The resin
consists of monomers or short chain polymers with
an epoxide group at either end. Most common epoxy
resins are produced from a reaction
between epichlorohydrin and bisphenol-A, though
the latter may be replaced by similar chemicals. - The hardener consists of polyamine monomers, for
example Triethylenetetramine (TETA). When these
compounds are mixed together, the amine groups
react with the epoxide groups to form a covalent
bond. Each NH group can react with an epoxide
group, so that the resulting polymer is heavily
cross linked, and is thus rigid and strong. - The process of polymerization is called "curing",
and can be controlled through temperature, choice
of resin and hardener compounds, and the ratio of
said compounds the process can take minutes to
hours. Some formulations benefit from heating
during the cure period, whereas others simply
require time, and ambient temperatures.

24TYPES OF EPOXY FLOORINGS
25TYPES OF EPOXY FLOORINGS
- ANTI-STATIC FLOORING TRIFLOR ESD
- Electrostatic charge is commonly created by the
friction of two materials, because of imbalance
of electrons on a material surface. - The human body is perhaps the most common ESD
source, although a person dont fell the charge
until the body is charged to approx 3000-4000
volts. - A tiny fraction of this voltage is sufficient to
cause major damage to sensitive electronic
components. - Only method for helping to remove static
electricity from persons body is to provide a
ANTI-STATIC DESSIPATIVE EPOXY FLOORING. - ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE of ESD flooring 106 1010
Ohms - Static discharge prevents a serious safety risks.

28APPLICATION AREAS
29IN CHEMICAL PLANT
- Epoxy flooring in chemical plant protects
structural integrity of concrete slab by
preventing absorption of chemicals, acids and
caustics because of its good chemical resistance.
30IN pharmaceutical PLANT
- Pharmaceutical floors needs to be free from
allergens and dust. Epoxy acts as a concrete
floor sealant. They are safe easy to clean,
preventing microbial growth, because of its
anti-bacterial and anti-fungal resistance.
31IN food PLANT
- Like many industrial buildings, the food
processing industry must adhere to federal
government standards. In the food processing
industry, certain food byproducts often fall onto
the ground. Examples include fats, oils, blood,
sugar, and acids. Keeping all areas of a food
processing industry clean including the floor is
a requirement of the business. - Epoxy floor coating is used so frequently
because it provides protection against acids and
alkalis, can easily tolerate abrasive cleaning
procedures and chemicals.
32In hospital laboratories
- Epoxy Coating Specialists offers seamless
flooring systems that meet the rigorous,
cleanliness standards of the healthcare industry.
Epoxy flooring is having Bacteriostatic
properties, Fungistatic properties, antimicrobial
protection, Chemical resistance to skin and
cleaning disinfectants.
33IN automobile aerospace
- Epoxy flooring has chemical resistance, which
provides a sealed surface resistant to oils,
lubricants, break fluids, and hydraulic oils.
Epoxy flooring has - ABRASION RESISTANCE .
APPEARANCE/AESTHETICS - EASY-TO CLEAN . CHEMICAL
RESISTANCE - SLIP-RESISTANCE
34IN power plant electronic plant
- Work environments for the electronic industry are
designed to deliver the ultimate in static
control. - Provide a slip-resistant surface for workers
- Impart high tolerance for heavy wear and tear
- Prevent concrete dusting, easing strain on air
filtration systems - Can reduce the amount of electricity necessary to
illuminate an area
35FLOORINGS
36WHY PU FLOORINGS
- Polyurethane is a protective coating that will
add longevity to your floors. Polyurethane
coating can be used in many different
applications, from cabinets to furniture - Polyurethane floor are usually softer and elastic
which it gives better resistance to scratching
and better resistance to very low freezing
temperature.
