etc. It is the duty of the parent and the
children to collectively decide on which board is
of vital important, so choose the best boarding
schools in India for NRI which is both academic
oriented and focuses on the overall development
of the child. Here, is a brief on which is the
best amongst IB and CBSE.
3International Baccalaureate (IB)
The IB curriculum offers one of the most rigorous
and high-quality education with the best-trained
minds in the schools. Its teachers are trained
throughout and are widely acclaimed and teach
globally recognized syllabus to the teachers.
Schools offering IB are certified to IBDP. The
teachers and the administrators are required to
go standard teaching to demonstrate excellent
academic lessons to the students. It focuses on a
single curriculum which is used by IB schools
worldwide. It is a kind of University Preparation
Program that facilitates fundamental skills
amongst the students which chiefly focuses on the
future of the students.
4Advantages
- The IB curriculum focuses chiefly on critical
thinking which caters the students to independent
thinking with the help of complex thought
process. They encourage debating skills and
comprehensive skills on the students. - It has a globally recognized syllabus accredited
by many universities worldwide. - It provides different learning level such as
Standard level and High level. Students are free
to choose their course and learn and give
examinations in the future. - They offer other courses which are different
form the common streams such as Psychology,
Visual Arts which are not mainstream but has
various career opportunities in the future.
Hence, as the syllabus prepares for the
university level, students need to worry less
regarding their further studies.
5Disadvantages
- Though it is globally accepted, there are
universities still which do not recognize the IB
syllabus such as Italy and Europe. So, students
should ensure and fact check before enrolling
themselves to IB syllabus abroad. - Since IB courses focus on covering a vast amount
of syllabus and topics, so scoring becomes a bit
difficult in the IB syllabus. Though the course
is difficult and in-depth, scores will affect
during examinations. - Another big disadvantage of IB is that there is
no central university acknowledgment for IB
syllabus school. They have started to receive a
lot of complains due to the location is not
specific and fixed and students have to travel a
lot too far away locations for the process and
other requirements. - Though it covers a lot of subjects and themes,
there are not enough competitive schools to teach
all the courses. As the syllabus is bit complex,
it takes time to understand, hence is a bit rigid
for easy understanding of the students.
6Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
CBSE is one of the largest and oldest board in
India which was approved by the Government of
India in 1929 and reports to the Ministry of
Human Resource Development and recognized by many
schools and colleges across India. It is

maintaining uniformity which is held under one
board with the same curriculum across the nation,
which favors a wide range of students and
benefits them too. It conducts innovative
teaching-learning methodologies with effective
skill learning activities for the students for
comprehensive learning. The syllabus and the
teaching pattern are continuously updated with
regards to constant trend in the education
fraternity.
7Advantages
- CBSE syllabus is prepared according to
competitive examinations such as AIEEE and AIPMT.
So, there is an advantage for the CBSE students
to crack all medical and engineering examinations
easily as compared to the other boards. - It works in the favor of students whose parents
have a transferable job and are in always in a
constant position of relocation across India. As
the syllabus comes under the Government of India,
students find it easy to continue with the same
syllabus hassle free. - CBSE promotes conceptual learning and avoids the
idea of rote learning. The questions are made
such way, that it checks the conceptual
understanding of the students rather than
promoting a concept of just answering the
question. - CBSE offers a range of opportunities in the
field of sports. It promotes the idea and
importance of both indoor and outdoor sports and
conducts examinations for sports too. It explores
student sports activities and conducts national
level sports tournaments too. - CBSE which is run by the Government of India
aids the students financially too. It provides
the scholarship to the students who come from a
financially challenged background and cannot
afford the burden of educational fees.
8Conclusion
Both IB and CBSE is nationally and
internationally acclaimed curriculum which covers
a wide range of interactive and interesting
syllabus which benefits the students. Both have a
perfect course structure designed in the favor of
the students future. It is the responsibility of
the parents and students both to decide which is
the best schools in India for NRI students and
which curriculum favors their child for a better
prospect and career in the future. Ensure that
