• www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in is the official
  government website for income tax return filing
• You can also view your Form 26AS, download tax
  returns of previous years and respond to tax
  notices on this portal
• To do these things you will need to register on
  this portal

Registration Steps

• Step 1 Go to Income Tax India e-Filing Website 
• Step 2 Click on the Register Yourself button
  present on the top right corner

• Step 3 On the registration form, select the user
  type as Individual and click on the Continue
  button.

• Step 4 Next step is to fill the mandatory fields
  (marked with asterisk) and click on the
  Continue button.

• Step 5 Please fill all the mandatory details
  (marked with asterix). Make sure to fill correct
  mobile number and email-id currently used by you,
  as further communication will be sent to your
  email-id and mobile number by the Income Tax
  Department and click on the Submit button.

• Step 6 Once the registration is complete, you
  will receive an email on your registered email id
  from Income Tax Department through their
  email-id, DONOTREPLY_at_incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
  . An OTP will also be sent to your registered
  mobile number.

• Step 7 Access the email sent to you by Income
  Tax Department and click on the enclosed
  activation link. It will take you to the
  activation page.

• Step 8 In the activation page, enter the OTP you
  received earlier and press the Submit button.

• Step 9 Once you submit the OTP, your
  registration is successfully completed. So, now
  you can login to access your account.
