About Traffic Education
  • Traffic education is equally important to
    all road users. All the participants of road are
    equally responsible for the traffic safety. The
    drivers and pedestrians should have adequate
    information regarding road uses.

Educating About Traffic Rules
  • A high vehicle population or road density isnt
    the main contributor to road accidents and
    fatalities in India as rising cases of road
    accidents were observed in rural areas, This
    indicates that lack of road traffic education.
  • Teach road safety to the young
  • Teaching children the meaning of red, yellow and
    green traffic lights is a must. Its easy for
    them to understand the signals as it involves
    colours
  • Tell your children to always walk on the sidewalk
    or footpath. When you are on the roads with them,
    follow the rules diligently so that they also
    pick up the habit of walking on the sidewalk.

School Conclave - Road Safety through existing
curriculum subjects
  • Realising the vulnerability of the children on
    our roads, various discussions and meetings were
    held across the country debating the need to
    introduce Road Safety as a separate subject in
    the school curriculum. 
  • IRTE has developed a module and methodology, to
    teach Road Safety Education through the existing
    curriculum subjects.

Traffic Education in Schools
  • Teaching these five road safety rules to your
    children at a young age will not only let them
    stay safe on the roads but also help them become
    more responsible as a citizen as they grow up.
  • Educate the teachers in the basics of road laws,
    driver education and behaviour, current status of
    road environment and enforcement, causes and
    hazards which lead to road accidents, and
    post-accident management.
