• Before preparing for your prelims you should have

• You should be familiar with the UPSC exam
  pattern, in order to understand them fast and to
  complete them in time. UPSC exam is conducted in
  3 stages
• Preliminary exam
• Main exam

• In order to reach the mains examination, it is
  important to master the G.S paper as it comprises
  a vast area of subjects. There will be 100
  questions for 2 hours, with each one carrying 2
  marks.

• Even though UPSC wont repeat the same questions,
  still its better to familiarise with the kind of
  questions asked. The same type of questions may
  get repeated. The reach of the questions being
  asked can be understood by going through previous
  years IAS question papers.
