Title: La Digue Island - Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa

1
Savoy Seychelles Resort Spa La Digue island
La Digue is a secluded island of the Seychelles
archipelago. It is easily accessible from Mahe
Island, where the Savoy Seychelles Resort Spa
hotel is located, by ship, plane or helicopter.
2
La Digue can be called the most picturesque
island of the Seychelles archipelago. Only two
thousand people live in a small area. The main
part of the island is almost deserted, it is
covered with impenetrable jungle and several
plantations of cinnamon and coconuts. But still
on this small island you can have an
unforgettable vacation. Visiting La Digue,
everyone can feel the pristine beauty of nature.
It is on this island that you can easily get rid
of the everyday hectic and rush. Despite the fact
that the island is similar to primeval lands, the
level of civilization is very well developed.
Tourists are offered a high level of service and
a very comfortable stay.
3
How to get La Digue regularly runs ferries from
neighboring islands. From Mahe Island can be
reached in 3 hours, and from Praslin - in 30
minutes. You can also use the services of
Helicopter Seychelles, which provides transfers
by helicopter. There are no paved roads on the
island, so the locals move mainly on carts drawn
by oxen or bicycles. But the residential part of
the island is so small that it can be easily
walked around. Each hotel offers to rent a
bicycle, and tourists often carry luggage from
the pier to the hotel on carts.
4
Restaurants On La Digue there are restaurants
and Creole and European cuisine. It is worth
considering that all institutions accept orders
only until 2200, after which only drinks can be
ordered. The kitchen is dominated by
seafood. Patatran This restaurant is located
within the LOcean Hotel. The tables are located
on a large terrace from where it opens, just a
bewitching panoramic view. It is probably
included in the price of dishes, since the prices
here are very expensive. Lanbousir A restaurant
is located near Source DArgent Bay. Here are
very tasty creole dishes (sea bastards, poultry,
meat). But the speed of cooking leaves much to be
desired.
5
Loutier coco The premises of the cafe are a large
hut under palm leaves. Inside, instead of the
floor, there is sand, and tables and chairs are
replaced by large and small stumps. The
institution's main dish is the core of cabbage
palm with rice. People often come here to quench
their thirst with cool drinks. Hot drinks are
free. Also, desserts are very tasty here. A
seafood buffet is served at the café every
Sunday. It costs such a pleasure just
10. Belle Vue snack bar The cafe has very
affordable prices, and from the terrace you can
see the neighboring island of Praslin. Be sure to
try vanilla ice cream.
6
Beaches Anse Source DArgent This beach on La
Digue has been recognized several times as one of
the best beaches in the world. It can be seen on
most souvenir cards. Entrance to the beach is
paid - about 8. On the beach there is a
restaurant, cafe, grocery stores, souvenir
shops. Green palm trees, the azure ocean, white
sand and red granite rocks growing from the water
- all this makes the beach a truly paradise. But
everything in this fabulous place has its
drawbacks. The main nuisance that can await you
here and on other local beaches is sea urchins.
7
Anse cocos A very picturesque crescent-shaped
beach. Here you can often see how shooting for
advertising or cinema takes place. The warm
waters of the Indian Ocean on one side and
tropical greenery on the other, and the side of
the beach framed by cliffs. Grand Anse beach If
you want to feel like on a desert island, then
you should visit this beach. About a kilometer of
snow-white sand, reminiscent of powder, tall palm
trees and a quiet surf guarantee this.
8
Sights of La Digue A local attraction is an
18th-century Creole-style house where the
shooting of the film Emmanuel took place. Now,
the president of the Seychelles resides in it. It
is located near the national park. Of the
religious sites on the island there is the Church
of the Assumption of Our Lady. It was built over
100 years ago. There is a temple near the port.
Also, a special place in the historical heritage
is occupied by the graves of the first
colonialists, which can be seen by visiting Cape
Cap Barbie. Eustache Sardes House The ancient
architectural memorial has been perfectly
preserved to this day.
9
Cape Cap Barbie (Pointe Cap Barbi) In the
northern part of the island there is a beautiful
cape, which is surrounded by bays on both sides.
Palm trees, breadfruit and large ferns grow here.
You can get to the cape by a single road. Very
often in this part of the island you can see
artists and divers. The former paint pictures
with beautiful landscapes, while the latter
explore the underwater world. Granite Boulder A
giant stone that formed after cooling magma, in
the early stages of Earth. His age is about 750
million years. The park is open every day, from
seven in the morning until five in the evening,
the cost of a ticket for adults is 5, for
children admission is free.
10
Mount Nid dAigle This mountain offers amazing
views of the entire island. To the very foot can
be reached by bicycle. There is also a small
restaurant where you can relax before climbing
up. True, special efforts for lifting are not
necessary, only desire and comfortable
shoes. Flycatcher Reserve In this national park
live rare tropical birds - flycatchers. She is a
symbol of the island. This is the only nature
reserve in the world where these birds live in
the wild. Its very difficult to see these birds
of paradise - they are too shy. But still, you
can see tropical plants and other residents of
the park. There is a nature reserve near Mount
Nid dAigle.
