DOORS
  • Door - a panel that covers an opening in a
    building, room or vehicle.
  • They are usually made of a hard, semi-permeable,
    and hard-to-break substance .
  • Doors are often attached by hinges to a frame.
  • Have some locking mechanisms to ensure that only
    some people can open them.
  • providing access into and out of a space
  • Ensure privacy.
  • Doors may have artistic, significant,
    conventional purposes.

Hinged Doors
  • Allow one side of the door to pivot away from the
    doorway direction, but not the other.
  • Axis of rotation - vertical
  • For hinged garage doors, axis of rotation -
    horizontal above the door opening

Folding Doors
  • This type of doors which opens by folding back in
    sections or so-called panels.
  • Folding doors are also known as bi-fold doors',
  • Folding doors can be used as internal or external
    room dividers and are made from a variety of
    materials.
  • Most folding doors are glazed and the panels have
    frames of different materials
  • They can open up and fold either internally or
    externally and are widely used in modern
    extensions.

Sliding Doors
  • They are often useful to have doors which slide
    along tracks, often for space or aesthetic
    considerations.
  • The doors can slide in either direction along one
    axis on parallel overhead tracks, sliding past
    each other.
  • Doors which slide inside a wall cavity -Pocket
    Doors.
  • This type of door is used in tight spaces where
    privacy is also required.
  • The door slab is mounted to roller and a track at
    the top of the door and slides inside a wall.

Rotating Doors
  • A Rotating door has several wings or leaves,
    generally four, radiating from a central shaft,
    forming compartments that rotate about a vertical
    axis.
  • A revolving door allows people to pass in both
    directions without colliding, and forms an
    airlock maintaining a seal between inside and out.
