  • Medical Treatment

5
Psoriasis
  • Psoriasis is chronic (long term) skin problem
that causes skin cells to grow too quickly
resulting in thick, white silvery or red patches
at anywhere on body. Normally skin cells grow
gradually flake off about every 4 weeks. New
skin cells grow to replace outer layers of skin
as they shed. But in psoriasis new skin cells
move rapidly to the surface of skin in days
rather than in weeks. They build up form thick
patches called plaques. Psoriasis is never life
    threatening disease.?Actually psoriasis is not
    contagious.
  • Cause
  • Actually cause of psoriasis is not fully
understood. But experts believe that it is
autoimmune disease which occurs when immune
    system overreacts causing inflammation flaking
    of skin.
  • But exact cause is unknown. In some cases
    psoriasis runs in family.
  • Genetic may be a cause Smoking, alcohol,
stress, self medications, some drugs etc are the
    supporting factors to increase psoriasis.

6
Vitiligo (Leucoderma)
  • Shubham skin clinic at Pune Sinhagad road offers
most advance treatments for vitiligo (Leucoderma)
as medical treatment and surgical treatments for
those who are not responding to normal
    treatments. What is vitiligo (leukoderma)?Vitiligo
is a condition that causes depigmentation(whiteni
ng) of skin anywhere on body. It occurs when
melanocytes, the cells responsible for skin
pigmentation die or unable to function skin
losses melanin pigment which is responsible for
normal color of our skin. There are many
misconceptions about vitiligo in society but
actually it is not even a disease. It is never
life threatening but only a cosmetic problem.
Vitiligo is noninfectious non contagious. It
has many different types and it can be curable.
  • Cause
  • Vitiligo is unknown but researchers suggest
that it is autoimmune problem it is due to
overreacting of body immune system against
    melanocytes (pigment cells).
  • Heredity is one of the cause but there is no
rule that a person will get vitiligo if his
parents having it. Genetic may be a cause.

7
Eczema Atopic Dermatitis
  • Eczema Atopic Dermatitis Treatment Shubham skin
clinic at Pune Sinhagad road offers best
treatment for eczema and atopic dermatitis.
Eczema is a term for group of medical conditions
that causes skin to become inflamed irritated.
There are many types of eczema. Major types are
    Intrinsic (Internal) Extrinsic (External).One
type of eczema is atopic dermatitis which is very
common in children. Eczema is allergic condition
it is absolutely non infectious non
    contagious it is curable.
  • Cause
  • Eczema is unknown but science states that it is
due to overactive response of body immune system
    to an unknown allergic substance.
  • This is about internal eczema and atopic
dermatitis. But in case of external eczema it is
possible to find out the cause of eczema by
allergy testing (Patch Test) External eczema is
also called as allergic / irritant contact
dermatitis it happens when person comes in
contact whit a particular substance which is not
    suitable for him.

Skin Diseases in Children
  • Some skin diseases minor or major are also found
in children. The branch which deals with
diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases in
children is called as pediatric dermatology.
Shubham skin clinic at Pune Sinhagad road offers
best facility for diagnosis and treatment of skin
diseases in children. Generally skin diseases
found in children are atopic dermatitis (Eczema),
    rashes, fungal infections, bacterial infections,
    viral infections, allergies, dandruff, vitiligo,
    warts, nail problems etc.
  • Cause
  • Cause varies according to problem.

9
Keloid Hypertrophic Scar
  • Keloids are the result of an overgrowth of dense
fibrous tissue that usually develops after
healing of a skin injury. The tissue extends
beyond the borders of the original wound, does
not usually regress spontaneously, and tends to
recur after excision. Keloids are harmless to
general health and do not change into skin
cancers. In contrast, hypertrophic scars are
    characterized by erythematous, pruritic, raised
fibrous lesions that typically do not expand
beyond the boundaries of the initial injury and
    may undergo partial spontaneous resolution.
Hypertrophic scars are common after thermal
injuries and other injuries that involve the deep
    dermis.
  • Cause
  • Most skin injury types can contribute to keloid
scarring. This includes acne scars, burns,
    chickenpox scars, ear piercing, scratches,
    surgical cuts or vaccination sites.
  • Keloids tend to have a genetic component, which
means you are more likely to have keloids if one
or both of your parents has them.
  • Hypertrophic scars generally develop after
thermal or traumatic injury that involves the
    deep layers of the dermis.

10
Corn, Callus Plantar Warts
  • Corn, calluses plantar warts usually look same
are thick, hardened layers of skin that develop
when your skin tries to protect itself against
    continuous friction pressure. Differentiation
of corn, callus wart is important for their
proper treatment. They most often develop on feet
toes or hands fingers. If you have diabetes
or other conditions that causes poor circulation
to your feet you are at greater risk of
complications from corns calluses. Seek your
doctors advice for proper care treatment.
Plantar warts look same like corn but wart is due
to virus. So proper diagnosis is required for
treatment. Sometimes warts are excised by surgery
but they return after surgery because surgery
only removes wart cannot kill virus so
radio/electro surgery or fractional co2 laser are
best choice of treatments for plantar warts and
    also corn calluses.
  • Cause
  • Continuous pressure friction from repetitive
action, ill fitting shoes, skipping socks, using
hand tools etc are the main causes of corn
    calluses.
  • Wart is usually due to viral infection. Chances
of spreading wart are more as compared to corn
    calluses.

11
Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)
  • Hyperhidrosis is the condition characterized by
    abnormally increased sweating/perspiration, in
excess of that required for regulation of body
temperature. It is associated with a significant
quality of life burden from a psychological,
emotional, and social perspective. As such, it
has been referred to as the silent handicap.
Hyperhidrosis can either be generalized or
localized to specific parts of the body. Hands,
feet, armpits, and the groin area are among the
most active regions of perspiration due to the
relatively high concentration of sweat glands.
When excessive sweating is localized (e.g. palms,
soles, face, underarms, scalp) it is referred to
as primary or focal hyperhidrosis. Generalized or
secondary hyperhidrosis usually involves the body
as a whole and is the result of an underlying
    condition. Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) of
palms and soles is very common and it usually
hampers work. So treatment is very necessary.
  • Cause
  • The cause of primary hyperhidrosis is unknown,
although some doctors claim it is caused by
    sympathetic nerve over-activity. Nervousness or
excitement can exacerbate the situation for many
    sufferers.
  • Other factors can play a role certain foods
and drinks, nicotine, caffeine, and smells can
    trigger a response.

12
Venereal (Sexually Transmitted) Diseases
  • Sexually transmitted diseases (STD), also
referred to as sexually transmitted infections
(STI) and venereal diseases (VD), are illnesses
that have a significant probability of
transmission between humans by means of sexual
behavior, including vaginal intercourse, anal sex
and oral sex. Some STIs can also be contracted by
using IV drug needles after their use by an
infected person, as well as through any incident
involving the contact of a wound with
contaminated blood or through childbirth or
breast feeding. Not all STIs are symptomatic, and
symptoms may not appear immediately after
infection. In some instances a disease can be
carried with no symptoms, which leaves a greater
risk of passing the disease on to others.
Bacterial STIs include chlamydia, gonorrhea, and
syphilis. There are several viral STIs including
herpes simplex, HIV, and human papillomavirus
(HPV). There are also parasite STIs, including
the crab louse. Safer sex is a method of
decreasing the risk of contracting sexually
    transmitted infections during sexual activity.
Prevention is key in addressing incurable STIs,
    such as HIV and herpes.
