US Student Visa
MIT, Harvard, Stanford! The best educational
institutions in the world located in America. The
USA has one of the best educational systems in
the globe. And this is the reason every student
like you, have a dream to get admission to these
USA universities. However, to enter the USA for
the purpose of studies, you require something
called the Student Visa for the USA. What is a
Student Visa for the USA? To attend an
institution/education in the United States, you
require a US student visa. Even people belonging
to countries in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP)
will need a permit to enroll in courses involving
credits degrees. For academic language
types of studies, you will need an F1 type, and
for vocational and non-academic studies, you
require an M1. The USA Student Visa is valid
until your course duration.
  • How to Get a Student Visa for the US?
  • To apply for a US student visa, as per the M1/ F1
Visa requirements, following steps you need to go
    through,
  • Obtain the I20 form by applying to an institution
that has a SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor
    Program)
  • After acceptance of your I20 form application by
    the school/college/university. They will register
you in SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor
    Information System)
  • Then You will have to pay the SEVIS I-901 fees
  • After payment confirmation, the institution will
issue you with an I20 form

2
  • The I20 form is one of the most important
documents you require for the US student visa and
is also known as the Certificate of Eligibility
for Nonimmigrant Student Status. Once you have
this, you can proceed to your visa application
    as follows -
  • Ensure that you have all the documents required
    for your US student visa.
  • Create an account on the US CEAC (Consular
    Electronic Application Center) website.
  • Select the DS-160 form which is the student visa
form for the USA. Proceed to fill this online.
Make note of the barcode number you get.
  • Pay the fees for the application online. Note
    your receipt number.
  • Book your appointments. You will need to book 2nd
appointments. The 1st one for biometric
submission at a VAC. The 2nd one is for the
    interview at the American Embassy/Consulate.
  • Attend the VAC appointment with your passport,
DS-160 form, and appointment confirmation page.
You will be subjected to a fingerprint scan, and
your digital photo will be taken at VAC.
  • For 2nd appointment, Visit the US
embassy/consulate for the interview along with
the passport, stamped DS-160 page, and
    appointment confirmation page.

Your USA Student Visa interview questions will
revolve around your course of study, finance, as
well as the return back to your original country
amongst other questions. Apart from this, the
interview is not required for the students who
have had their F1/M1 visa expired in the past 12
months, and are applying for the same visa. In
certain cases, you might be required to attend an
interview or submit your biometrics. It is
extremely important to ensure that you fill your
M1/ F1 visa application form correctly that you
submit the original and genuine documents which
are required. If your application is faulty or
has some misleading information, it will lead to
your student visa being delayed. If you have
submitted fake documents, it might cause you to
be permanently ineligible to apply for another US
visa.
