2What is Sun Salutation?
Sun Salutation, Salute to the Sun or Surya
Namaskar is a practice in yoga as
exercise incorporating a sequence of some twelve
linked asanas. Yoga, the basic sequence is
Tadasana, Urdhva Hastasana, Uttanasana, Adho
Mukha Svanasana, Chaturanga Dandasana, Urdhva
Mukha Svanasana and then reversing the
sequence to return to Tadasana other poses can
be inserted into the sequence.
3Tadasana
- One of the best yoga poses to increase height.
- Stimulates nervous system.
- Improves body posture and balance.
- Regulate the menstrual cycle in women.
- Tone your buttocks and abdomen.
- Strengthens your ankles, knees, thighs, arms,
and legs. - Improves the function of the respiratory and

4Urdhva Hastasana
- Urdhva Hastasana stretches the sides of the body,
spine, shoulders, armpits, and belly. - It tones the thighs. improves digestion
- helps to relieve anxiety and fatigue.
- It also helps to create space in the chest
and lungs, which is therapeutic for asthma and
congestion.
5Uttanasana
- Calms the brain and helps relieve stress and mild
depression. - Stimulates the liver and kidneys.
- Stretches the hamstrings, calves, and hips.
- Strengthens the thighs and knees
- Improves digestion.
- Helps relieve the symptoms of menopause.
- Reduces fatigue and anxiety.

6Adho Mukha Svanasana

7Chaturanga Dandasana
- Strengthens arm, shoulder, and leg muscles
- Develops core stability
