How Eating Whole Foods Helps You Lose Weight
Maintain Nutrition
2
What are whole foods?
  • It is not a coincidence that a rise in obesity
happened around the time processed and junk food
became popular. Processed food can seem
convenient in a busy grab-and-go lifestyle but is
certainly not recommended for obvious health
reasons. Real whole foods are those that are
closest to their natural state brimming with
nutrients. These are rich in antioxidants,
vitamins, minerals and are unprocessed. Consider
    some whole foods like
  • Apple
  • Banana
  • Flax seeds
  • Walnuts
  • Raspberries
  • Pumpkin
  • Brown Rice
  • Whole wheat
  • Eggs

Here are our top reasons how eating a whole food
diet will help you lose weight
  • Real Foods are nutritious
  • Whole foods are packed with nutrients that are
easily absorbed by the body. Conversely,
processed food has little or no nutrients. Eating
processed food also contributes to weight gain
which is extremely unhealthy. A diet of processed
foods that dont provide enough iron could affect
your ability to exercise. This also limits your
ability to burn more calories. For example, a
bowl of Del Monte whole wheat pasta in fresh
tomato sauce with mushrooms and basil is more
nutritious than regular pasta in alfredo
sauce. Dieticians recommend whole wheat pasta to
add to the diet to enable you to lose weight. Del
Monte offers an appetizing range of whole wheat
pasta and olive oil that are a super food for a
    whole-food-based diet.

High in protein
  • Protein is a crucial nutrient that helps body
retain the energy and also helps in weight loss.
It helps to increase your metabolism, reduces
hunger, and stimulates hormones that helps
regulate weight. Whole sources of protein are
typically higher in protein and lower in calories
which makes it even better for weight loss.
Protein is an essential nutrient for muscle and
tissue repair, especially after an intensive
workout. Food processing can make several amino
acids harder to digest and less available to the
body. Whole food sources of protein are legumes,
    eggs, beans, nuts, and seeds.

5
Foods without Refined Sugar
  • The natural sugar found in fresh fruits is
fructose and different from refined sugar. Fruits
and vegetables contain natural sugar along with
other nutrients like fiber, vitamins, and
essential minerals for a balanced diet. Processed
food contains a high amount of refined sugar. The
two popular types of added sugar are corn-syrup
and table sugar. Use natural sweeteners like
maple syrup, honey, coconut sugar which have a
low glycemic index that is better for weight
loss. Foods higher in refined sugar have more
calories and dont benefit health. Ice-cream,
cake, cookies, candy are loaded with refined
sugar and should be avoided if weight loss is
    your goal.

6
High in Fiber
  • Soluble fiber aids in better digestive health and
promotes weight loss. Fiber-rich food helps to
keep you feel fuller. Scientific studies have
proven that the intake of fiber increases the
production of hormones involved in managing
hunger. Whole food has more soluble fiber as
compared to processed food. Some great sources of
soluble fiber are flax seeds, beans, sweet
potatoes, oranges, drumsticks, chia seeds, rolled
oats, etc. For better weight loss goals, consider
having a breakfast rich in fiber. All whole food
grains like whole wheat, oats, quinoa, buckwheat,
brown rice are great sources of fiber.
