Title: All You Need to Know About the Obalon Weight Loss Procedure

1
All you need to know about the Obalon Weight Loss
Procedure
  • Weight loss procedures help people dealing with
weight issues to achieve their weight loss goals.
The obalon weight loss procedure is one such
    non-invasive procedure where A patient swallows A
small pill (deflated obalon balloon), which is
suspended by A fine tube. If you too are facing
weight issues and would like to know more about
the procedure, here are some helpful answers to
frequently asked questions about the obalon
    weight loss procedure.

2
What does the procedure involve?
  • Once the Obalon balloon is swallowed and placed
correctly in the stomach, the doctors fill gas in
the balloon through the tube. This non-invasive
process does not need sedation and takes
approximately 15 minutes at the doctors office
with the help of an x-ray. The second pill is
swallowed about two weeks after the first, and
the last balloon at least two weeks later. The
balloons are removed within 6 months.

3
Who is eligible for the procedure?
  • Once you have decided to go for a weight loss
surgery / procedure, the next big question is
whether you are eligible for it. To qualify for
the Obalon weight loss procedure a person need to
have BMI (body mass index) between 30 and 40
kg/m2. People with a BMI outside this range can
receive the Obalon balloon, but it will be
off-label. If you have had a weight loss
procedure before then you will not be eligible
for the procedure. You should also be able to
follow a strict diet and workout regime as
    prescribed by the doctor.

4
Are there any side effects?
  • There are certain kinds of side effects involved
when there is any kind of alteration to the body.
It is just the bodys way of adjusting to the
change. People who have undergone this procedure
sometimes complain of mild nausea and abdominal
pain. This issue usually is self-limited within a
few days. You can also counteract any reflux
issues with acid-blocking drugs prescribed by
    your doctor.

5
Start Losing Weight
  • Do your research before deciding to go for the
procedure. Consult a specialist doctor regarding
the Obalon weight loss procedure and discuss your
medical history with them. Dont be shy to ask
questions even if they seem trivial. You should
be comfortable before starting any medical
procedure. Remember, your doctor knows best, so
    follow his instructions.
