First Attempt

Introduction
  • The GMAT exam is quite crucial among those who
are willing to pursue their post-graduation
degree in a foreign land or want to apply in
universities which asks GMAT score as the
benchmark to get an admission. GMAC (Graduate
Management Admission Council) is the apex
organization responsible for carrying out the
GMAT exam. GMAT is made up of four different
    sections, namely, Quantitative Aptitude,
    Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing
Assessment, and Verbal Reasoning. This why
institutes like GMAT Singapore are up to the task
helping candidates crack the GMAT with ease.
Here, in this article, we are going to discuss
different mistakes that should be avoided by you,
if you want to do well in this exam in very first
    attempt. So, continue reading!

Mistakes to Avoid to Do Well in the GMAT Exam
  • Mistakes are part of life and its okay to commit
mistakes because it tends to teach you some
lessons which restrict you from doing it again
and again in life. But, things change when we
relate mistakes with exams like GMAT. Mistakes
committed in the GMAT Singapore test center can
cost you a lot when we talk relating them to the
GMAT scores. You tend to lose many marks because
of some careless mistakes you made during the
exam or its preparation journey. So, it is best
in your interest to avoid these.

1) Starting GMAT preparation with a study plan
  • In the previous blogs, Ive mentioned the
importance of a solid study plan and how it helps
you throughout your GMAT preparation journey.
Without a plan, you will be clueless on how to
start the preparation. This is likely to cost you
some valuable time which you can invest in the
preparation for the GMAT exam. All this is
possible with a solid study plan. It gives you a
crystal clear idea about the things you need to
cover in the course of GMAT preparation.

2) Avoiding focusing on your weaknesses
  • Experts from different prep-institutions like
GMAT Singapore complain that candidates often
ignore the topics that they find tough and decide
to skip which they think is the worst move.
During the GMAT exam preparation, you need to
work on your strengths and weaknesses
simultaneously without ditching either one of
them. This way you are likely to cover every
aspect needed to ace the GMAT exam on the first
    go.

3) Cramming on the day before GMAT exam
  • Cramming is a way of memorizing something so
    aggressively that you unknowingly start
exhausting your brain. This is seen in the
candidates who prepare for the exam a day before.
Cramming is considered bad as it is stressful for
your brain which is a bad sign going into the
important exams like GMAT. This is why experts
suggest starting GMAT exam preparation quite
early so, that you dont have to rush into things
at the very end, and completing it becomes quite
    tough.

4) Less/No use of computer-adaptive practice tests
  • GMAT is a computer adaptive test which means the
testing software adapts to your performance as
you go through answering different questions in
the GMAT Singapore test center. Institutions that
offer GMAT preparation online classes encourage
    candidates to take computer-adaptive practice
tests to get an understanding of how things work
in the actual test, else it will get quite
difficult for you. So, make sure you take the
computer adaptive practice tests that are
    full-fledged.

5) Not getting enough rest
  • This mistake is related to physical health which
is key to your success in the GMAT exam. Mental
and physical health is very important in the
exams that last for more than three hours. You
need to have enough rest the day before the
actual exam. Eating healthy breakfast and
hydrating yourself can be an additional tip that
will help you fight stress in such long exams.
Train your mind like youll be running a
    marathon, and not a sprint.
