Types of hypogonadism

• 1) Primary Hypogonadism
• This type of hypogonadism (also called primary
  testicular failure) is due to problems in the
  testicles. This secondary type of hypogonadism
  shows a problem with the hypothalamus or
  pituitary gland-the brain sends a signal to the
  testicles to produce testosterone.

2) Secondary Hypogonadism

• The testicles are normal, but they do not
  function properly due to problems with the
  pituitary gland or hypothalamus. Many conditions
  can lead to secondary hypogonadism.

Signs and symptoms

• Babies
• Weak muscles
• Slow motor development- taking longer than
  average to sit up, crawl and walk
• Delay in speaking
• Quiet, docile personality

Causes of hypogonadism

• Autoimmune diseases such as Addison's disease and
  hypoparathyroidism
• Genetic diseases such as Turner syndrome and
  Klein syndrome
• Severe infections, especially mumps with the
  testicles
• Liver and kidney disease
• Unabated testicles
• Hemochromatosis that occurs when your body
  absorbs too much iron
• Exposure
• Sex organ surgery

Treatment of hypogonadism

• The standard treatment for hypothyroidism is the
  daily use of the synthetic thyroid hormone
  levothyroxine (Levo-T, synthroid, etc.).
• This oral restaurrationative medicine can
  complete hormone levels and reverse the signs and
  symptoms of hypothyroidism. They may get better
  soon after the start of treatment.
