  • Fine art photography is a relatively new form of
artistic expression. Compared to the time honored
mediums of painting and sculpture. Fine art
photography need your artistic vision. This genre

WHAT IS FINE ART AND FIGURE STUDY PHOTOGRAPHY ?
  • Fine art photography is a lot of specific
components for a visually appealing artwork,
whether its artist's imagination, aesthetic or
    intellectual content. It requires excellent
skills in post processing. The goal of fine art
photography is to express an idea, a message or
    an emotion.
  • On the other hand , Figure study is about to
capture the character and individual traits of
the subject. Subjects in figure photography are a
study of the physical structure of a human. They
are not portraits, but rather a composition.
  • Bodies in these photographs are often shot using
light extremes (very dark or very light) so as to
highlight a specific part of the body. Often
times the bodies are oiled to show subtleties in
texture and form.Classical poses can be just head
shots, half body length or full body.

  • Fine Art photography created in line with vision
of photographer as artist, using photography a
medium for creative expression.Fine Art Figure
photographs strive to show the beauty in the
human body and rarely even show the faces of the
subjects. Few things need to know to become a
    true artist.

Things to know become Fine art and Figure Study
Photographer
  • Vision
  • Fine art photography need your vision. The image
are created in your mind using imagination. Your
imagination that delivers the highest effect and
portrays emotion in a strong and distinctive
style. You may use location, props, posing and
lighting to discover the horizons of creative.

6
Background
  • One of the main characteristics of Fine art and
Figure study is the simple background. Solid
    color background help emphasize prominent
physical characteristics such as hair texture,
skin pigmentation, eye color as well as clothes
and accessories. Solid backgrounds create a sense
of depth and naturally guide the eye to focus
    entirely on the model.

7
Posing Techniques
8
Tucking the arms in, moving them back far
enough to hide the upper arm
  • Its important to remember to tuck the arms in
and hide the upper arm, to minimize any
    distractions.

9
Creating separation between the arms and the body
  • When the photographer creates physical space
between the arms and the body, it will make the
    subject look more elegant.

10
Forcing the chin away from the neck
  • Lean the head back and push the neck out. This
pose creates a straighter line under the neck and
helps your subject look alert and purposeful.

11
Arching the back
  • The arched back will help to create a perfect
body shape for your subject. Your subject will
not only have a great posture but will also
    appear more delicate and beautiful.

12
Dropping the shoulders
  • With the shoulders dropped, the neck is
elongated. The pose looks elegant and encourages
    better posture.

13
Tilting the head back
  • While tilting the head, the neck looks longer,
giving the models body more shape and creating
more space. Consider this ideal pose for your
    fine art photo.

14
Twisting the body
  • To avoid creating an unattractive rectangular,
block-like body pose, twist your subjects core
slightly to separate the limbs from the torso.
The added shape derived from this pose projects a
sense of movement and reduces the feeling of
    static mass.

15
Making motion believable
  • Make motion believable by having the model
actually do the motion. When engaged in a real
motion, the whole body jumps into action. The
body must feel the motion to show it in a
    realistic way.

16
Experiment with Photo Editing
  • Fine art photography editing comprises different
textures, adjusting tools, and photo resources to
enhance your portraits to an extremely great
extent. With the help of amazing editing tools and
software, You may merge several photos, make
double exposure, digital drawing, and draw
    additional objects .

17
Improve Black And White
  • The most important components of learning to see
in black and white is to train your eyes to look
    for tonal contrast.Tonal contrast give
photography dreamy vibe. The rich tonal contrast
of the scene turns this shot of Upper Antelope
Canyon into a dramatic representation that evokes
thoughts of Ansel Adams' work.Combined with the
long exposure to create the dreamy, smooth shafts
of water, this image reflects the idea of turning
the scene into a representation of your vision,
rather than simply snapping a photo that
    accurately documents the subject. Creating
beautiful black and white fine art photography
begins with your vision and your ability to train
yourself to see in black and white.
