How to Score Good Marks in Exams

Introduction
We come across hundreds of students and trust me,
Each one aspires to score the best in exams.
There is every second average question to know
how a topper is able to excel in almost all the
subjects. Students sometimes fail to realize it
is not only hard work that is required to ace
their exams with the best scores but also Smart
work. Today we are going to answer a very common
question that is asked by all the students,
W hat are the tips and tricks to score good marks
in exams?
3
Undoubtedly this is one of the most asked
questions. The right strategy and tips can help
you get over the exam fear and clear the
exams. And I have made sure to not compare any
child and classify them as Toppers or
Failures. Because this is not how things work.
Moving straight to the point, Let me give you a
brief on how you can start your preparation to
rise with flying colours. By the end of this
article You will find a bonus tip that will
help you in acing your exams.

TIP 1
To explain what Planning is It is the
process of thinking about the activities
required to achieve desired goals. Whether in
business or our daily life, it is the first step
to before implementation. Some questions that
you need to ask yourself before planning
The first tip has to be Planning
is
5
1. How should I do it ? Planning is quite easier
than implementing those plans. Have a realistic
plan of action. Something that is actually
possible for you to do. Know yourself whether
you are an early bird or a late night owl. It is
not necessary to wake up at 3am and start
studying. Analyze your potential. You should have
Productive hours and not lengthy hours. All
you need to know about is Your Potential
. Make a short term goal and do not plan things
for a week or a month. Plan your study a night
before you sleep. This will help you achieve
better results.
6
TIP 2
Make revisions at regular intervals Revision
cycle
  • We have a forgetting curve which shows that 50
of the things that we have memorized are
forgotten within an hour. So to retain it in
your long term memory Practice or revise it
consistently. Each topic should be revised at
least thrice. Divide your day into two ratios
where one part of it goes for revision.

7
The gap between Learning a new topic and revising
it should not be more than a day. The intervals
of time for making revisions should be 1st
revision 15minutes after learning a new
topic. 2nd revision On the next day before you
start a fresh topic. 3rd revision On the
seventh day/month end Now this interval varies
from child to child. It can be flexible or as per
the childs ability to retain things. Highlight
the key points or making short notes at the
first slot of revision will make the other
intervals of revision less time consuming and
effective. Learning at the last moment of the
exams may help you clear the exams but not score
good marks. During the exams you must only focus
on revising things that youve already learnt.
8
3. Mentor is important ? Each child needs a
mentor in their life who becomes a career
counsellor and helps students work through day
to day struggles. It could be your Parent or a
home tutor. Someone gives you valuable advice
helps you enhance your knowledge and skills. It
is important that before actually sitting for
your main exams your progress is checked by
someone who is expert in that subject. The tips
and tricks given by the person can turn out to be
a game changer tip.
9
TIP 3
Hard work and consistency pay
Be consistent
off. A long break in your studies can hamper the
flow and
minimise chances of good results. If you want to
stand the best you need to work the best.
Being consistent in Learning and covering all
the topics, making notes, giving tests and
analyzing mistakes and revision can do wonders
in your performance.
10
All humans have that tendency to focus more on
the results other than the process. But the
journey is important. Afterall results are
outcome of the process Now as promised at the
beginning of the article let me finally reveal
the bonus tip. Why to memorise topics ? Most of
the students find it difficult to do rote
learning or memorizing topics, formulas and
theories.May it be History, Maths or Science A
conceptual understanding is important. Apart from
this if you want to do rote learning Use all
your senses. Understand that If you are good at
speaking on a topic, You will be better at
writing at that topic.
11
When you learn something Speak it out loud and
read it. Repeat it twice and thrice. In this way
you will use all your senses. And in this way your
brain will easily take things. All these tips
are very practical. But it has to be personalized
because as I say Learning habits of each child
is different.
