    (Tier-1) for all the candidates.

    center as West Bengal, the exam was scheduled to

    the candidates.

Tier 1
Tier 1 is comprises
a computer-based of topics such as

the SSC CHSL exam contains four tiers i.e. Tier
1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4.
The duration of the paper is 60 minutes, total
number of questions are 100 and the total marks
are 200.

marks. While, for each wrong answer, ¼ marks
will be deducted. Note that candidates who
belong to the PwD category will receive a total
duration of 80 minutes for their SSC CHSL Tier
1 paper.

The Tier 2 paper will be descriptive in nature.
Tier 2 The SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Tier 2 is
as follows
  • This paper will assess a candidates writing
    skills in English and Hindi.
  • Tier 2 consists of Essay writing for 200-250
    marks and Letter/Application writing of 150-
    200 words.
  • Candidates need to score a minimum of 33 to
    qualify in this tier.

The total marks given to this paper is 100.
  • The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
  • However, candidates who belong to the PwD
    category will receive a total duration of 80
    minutes.
  • There is no negative marking for this paper.
  • Tier 3
  • Tier 3 consists of skill test for Data Entry
    operator and typing test for various posts such
    as LDC, PA/SA, court clerk.
  • The typing test will be conducted for a duration
    of 15 minutes in which candidates will be
    required to write 35 words per minute (English
    Medium) and 30 words per minute (Hindi medium)
  • This paper will be qualifying in nature.
