Bridgertons Freddie Stroma joins James Gunns
Peacemaker Series

• Deadline is reporting that Bridgerton actor
  Freddie Stroma has signed on to star in HBO Max
  and James Gunns The Suicide Squad TV spinoff
  series Peacemaker.
• Stroma is replacing Chris Conrad in the series,
  the latter exiting amicably due to creative
  differences, and will take on the role of Adrian
  Chase, a.k.a. Vigilante.
• The character is described as a hand-to-hand
  combatant, a brilliant marksman and a master of
  the lariat. He was a New York City DA who sought
  justice in his own way as his alter ego after his
  wife and kids were killed by mobsters. Vigilante
  also has the ability to heal quickly and
  regenerate his body from injuries as serious as
  stabbings or gunshot wounds.

• As James Gunn gets closer to making his DC debut
  with The Suicide Squad, the Guardians of the
  Galaxy filmmaker released a new image on
  Instagram featuring Bloodsport and The Thinker,
  played by Idris Elba and Doctor Who alum Peter
  Capaldi, in some nightclub duds. In the comics,
  Bloodsport is a Vietnam draft dodger stricken
  with guilt over the disfigurement of his brother,
  who fought in the war in his place.

  mission to destroy Jotunheim, a Nazi prison. in
  exchange for a shortened sentence.
• One of the prisoners in Jotunheim is The Thinker,
  a man subjected to cruel experiments that fused
  antennas into his head to give powers of
  telepathy and telekinesis.

  we'll have to make due with whatever tidbit they
  throw our way. James Gunn has released a new
  image from the film, featuring Bloodsport (Idris
  Elba), Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchian)
  Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), and The Thinker
  (Peter Capaldi) dressed in their...finest
  civilian duds, although no one, particularly
  Thinker, looks particularly pleased to be there.
