  • To help students calm their nerves, FIITJEE
releases the expected Main cutoff before NTA
releasing it so that students know their
possibilities of cracking the prestigious exam.
The National Testing Agency every year releases
the JEE Main cutoff after all 4 sessions of
exams. There are two types of cut-off of JEE
Main, one is admission cutoff and the other is
qualifying cutoff. The Main qualifying cut-off
is the marks that students need to secure to
appear for JEE Advanced exam, whereas the
admission cut-off is the rank released by JoSAA
for admission in the JEE. The JEE Mains cut-off
varies every year depending upon the category of
a candidate and it is used to screen candidates
for JEE Advanced. Students meeting the qualifying
cutoff marks are considered eligible to appear
for the JEE Advanced exam. The admission cut-off
is the minimum marks that candidates need to
score for higher chances of getting admission in
the participating colleges of JEE Main.
  • Factors Affecting JEE Main Cutoff 2021
  • While preparing the JEE Main cutoff every year,
the National Testing Agency consider the
    following factors
  • The number of students who appeared in the JEE
    Main exam that particular year
  • Number of seats available in all participating
    colleges
  • The Difficulty level of the Main question paper
    of that particular year

2
  • Highest score obtained by a student
  • The lowest score obtained by a student
  • Average score obtained by the students
  • A Rise in Cut-off Marks
  • A rise in cutoff marks is expected in 2021 based
on the JEE Main exam analysis. With around
  • 7.09 lakh students appearing for the April and
July sessions, the cutoff is expected to be
higher this year. The JEE Main cutoff marks are
likely to be higher in 2021 for all the
categories of students. The expected cutoff for
the Common Rank List category is 90-95, for
General EWS is 70-75, for OBC is 70-75, for
Scheduled caste is 50-55, and for the scheduled
tribe is 40-45. The NTA has released the
provisional JEE Main answer key on July 29 for
the students to check their scores. The results
of the JEE Main are likely to be released soon.
