Title: Everything You Need to Know About Warehouse Racking

1
Everything You Need to Know About Warehouse
Racking
2
Warehouse Racking Overview
  • In general, warehouse racking is the shelf
system, arrangement, and a section of the
physical layout necessary to carry the inventory
    items.
  • Warehouse racking plays a vital role in how
simple quick it is to store, organize, and
    retrieve your inventory items!
  • Warehouse racking can hinder or accelerate
    warehouse operations. With proper warehouse
racking, warehouse managers maximize space and
    optimize warehouse organization for efficiency
    and a streamlined picking process.

3
Types of Warehouse Racking Structures
  • Selective Racking System
  • Push Back Racking System
  • Drive-In and Drive-through
  • Carton Flow Racking System
  • Narrow Aisle Racking System
  • Mobile Racking
  • Satellite Racking System

4
Selective Racking System
  • The simplest of all racking systems, selective
racking permits only one-unit-deep pallet loads
to be stored side-by-side. This makes all pallets
accessible from the aisle. For greater storage
density, double deep rack accommodates two pallet
    loads staged back-to-back.

5
Push Back Racking System
  • This is another of the most useful warehouse
racking systems developed primarily to use space
by depth instead of width! This system's depth
structure reduces the amount of space and
    increases stockpiling thickness.
  • Explicitly utilized for mass stockpiling, this
framework stores item that length 2-5 pallets. At
the point when a pallet is stacked onto the
framework, it pushes the following pallet back,
and when a pallet is unloaded, it is pushed to
    the front of the system.

6
Drive-In and Drive-through
  • Drive-in and drive-through is another amazing
racking system that enables the forklift to drive
directly into the lane of stacked rows, termed as
bay. The major difference between a drive-in and
a drive-thru racking system is whether the bays
have an entrance at only one end, or at both
    ends!

7
Carton Flow Racking System
  • This method of racking is also known as gravity
flow or dynamic racks of flow. The racking system
is typically a storage system with high density
that uses depth to increase space. In addition, a
slightly inclined rail with rollers is also
utilized in this racking system that allows
pallets to travel easily through the sloped area.

8
Mobile Racking
  • Mobile Racking is a storage solution in which the
metal structure is mounted on mobile bases or a
chassis which are guided by rails fixed to the
    floor.
  • With this movement of the racking bays only one
work aisle is opened for forklift access the
    aisle to work in.
  • This type of industrial racking has electric
motors and remote traction elements that enable
its movement from one side to the other.

9
Multi-Tier Racking
  • Multi-Tier Racking is a type of manual industrial
racking that makes it possible to optimise the
available space of a warehouse thanks to use of
    the height.
  • In this storage system, aisle levels at different
heights are created which are accessed by stairs.

10
Why You Need Racking Solutions?
  • Optimizing Warehouse Space in a Systematic Way.
  • Boost Productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Implementing Different Inventory Control Methods
  • Improve Employee Safety.
  • Today's racking systems are "smart" and
    Affordable.
  • Most pallet racks are made using steel, which
    makes them robust and durable.
  • Pallets can be recycled, rebuild, and reused to
cut down the landfill costs and wastage.
