Royal Botanical Gardens
  • Located in Peradeniya, this is the oldest formal
    garden in Sri Lanka. Royal Botanical Gardens
    houses more than 4000 plant species, including
    orchids, palm trees, medicinal plants, spices,
    and more. This garden is famous for its long,
    palm-framed pathways. There is a quaint orchid
    house built inside the Royal Botanical Gardens
    that exhibits some of the most prominent orchid
    species in the world. This garden shall be a

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
  • It is a golden roofed temple in Sri Lanka that
    contains one of the most important Buddhist
    relics, a tooth of the Buddha. During the time of
    prayers, the heavily guarded room housing the
    tooth is open for the devotees. While you cannot
    actually see the tooth, you can surely experience
    a distinctive spiritual and calming ambiance at
    the temple. The tooth of Buddha is kept in a gold
    casket shaped like a stupa and features a series
    of six dagoba caskets of diminishing size.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
  • Located near the town of Kegalle, this orphanage
    was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife
    Department to provide care and protection to the
    numerous orphaned Elephants found in the jungles
    of Sri Lanka. The orphanage aims to simulate a
    natural habitat for these magnificent animals.
