Joshua Michael Homme
An American singer, songwriter, record producer,
and musician, Josh Homme has been an essential
part of the highly acclaimed metal/stoner rock
bands of the late 1990s Kyuss, and early 2000s,
Queens of the Stone Age.

California-based, coming from Palm Desert, Kyuss
was established in the late 1980s that became
popular with their generator parties. The band
made its debut in 1991, Wretch, which was ignored
by the audience. Though their Blues for the Red
Sun was critically acclaimed extensively in 1992,
it failed commercially. However, before they
called quits in 1995, Kyuss partnered with
Elektra and issued a couple of releases.

After Kyuss, Homme made a comeback in music as
the second guitarist of the band on tour for 1996
Dust. It led to cameo recordings of other
musicians and the beginning of multi-volume
series, Desert Sessions featuring Kyuss, Monster
Magnet, and Soundgarden. Josh Homme's desire
rekindled to form a band again.

  • Then, in 2000, they released R, one of their
sophomore efforts, which received critical praise
as the band toured with famous names such as the
Smashing Pumpkins, the Foo Fighters, and Hole.
Their stardom continues to grow to receive more
critical praise with 2002's Songs for the Deaf, a
modern classic featuring "No One Knows," that
becomes the biggest hit. The success continues to
pour with Lullabies to Paralyze. It was named
after lyrics on "Mosquito Song," a hidden track
    from Songs for the Deaf.

  • Homme was busy in his other ventures in between
the releases of QOTSA. During this time, he
formed Eagles of Death Metal with Jesse Hughes,
one his friends. Besides, Josh Homme married
Brody Dalle of the Distillers in 2005. Together
they have three children, two sons Wolf and
    Orrin, and a daughter Camille.
