Lets analyze the differences between IVF and a
test tube baby.
There is no difference between an IVF baby and a
baby born from a test tube. The term "test-tube
baby" is a non-medical term for IVF (in In-Vitro
Fertilization) that was popular decades ago. The
phrase "test-tube baby" was coined to describe
an embryo that is generated in a test tube
rather than the woman's fallopian tube. In
actuality, the egg and sperm are fertilized in a
petri dish, hence the term in-vitro, which
refers to the process of fertilization within a
glass culture dish as opposed to in- vivo, which
refers to the process of fertilization within a
living body.
