How diabetes can affect joint pain which lead to
knee transplant
Diabetes mellitus is a group of disease that
affects how the body uses the blood sugar level.
Diabetes mellitus is also called as type 2
diabetes or as the adult onset diabetes. The
sugar and the blood glucose is the main component
that comes from the food we consume, insulin is
the hormone that is produced from the pancreas,
this helps to stimulate the glucose from the diet
that go into the cell to be utilised for energy.
When there is excess glucose in the blood it
reports serious health problems, diabetes
mellitus is a disease that is characterized by
hyperglycemia that is development from
deficiencies in insulin secretion insulin
activity or in both. 
People with diabetes are generally at high risk
of orthopaedic problems and they can experience
increased risk of outcomes that is following by
orthopaedic intervention. Diabetes can be a major
cause of numerous problems that vary from now
damage to the arterial disease, along with
diabetes there comes obasity and also infections
on the various sites of surgical procedures.

Common symptoms of diabetes are-
  • excessive weight loss
  • person will feel more hungry
  • dry mouth that is rise in thirst
  • blurry vision
  • excessive Lethargic ness
  • severe tiredness

How diabetes causes joint pain-
There are various studies that prove that the
people who are having diabetes are more from to
the orthopaedic problems such as fractures
osteoporosis and many other as compared to the
general population some of the indications in

  • Less absorption of calcium in the body and bones
  • Hypercalciuria that is discharge of calcium from
    the urine
  • There is increased oxidative stress in the body

complication of diabetes, which leads to certain
problem in older ages.
All of the conditions generally occurs in the
large joints of the body, which ultimately leads
to joint transplant, the main joint which gets
worse over time is knee joint.  here are symptoms
of knee pain that may be linked to diabetes-
  • Difficulty in weight bearing
  • Problem in walking due to instability of knee
    joint
  • Swelling and redness in knee
  • Difficulty in walking up and down
  • Locking of knee

Prevention of diabetes-
Reduce extra weight- weight loss is the main
factor that help to reduce the risk of diabetes,
for those people who are overweight they should
manage the proper calorie intake and should work
of principal of energy conservation expenditure
in there daily routine.

Exercise regularly- exercising regularly can help
you to maintain and lower the blood sugar level
and also helps to reduce weight. Maintain proper
diet- try to consume transferred and refined
carbohydrate, to include vegetable fruits to your
diet, have a proper check on whatever you
eat. Include vitamins minerals to your
diet  Drink more water- drink more and more
water because it will help you to control your
blood sugar, thereby it helps to reduce the risk
